Kx500 carb heater.

So I have a kx500 with a Ts 16 Lt. I don't have a lot of seat time on it yet unfortunately but am heading out to west Yellowstone soon. This is my first snow bike so it is a lot of trial and error but I've read a lot of people say to run a carb heater. So I bought a avid heater for my Lectron but I'm not sure how I'm going to mount the thermostat in. Is there any other kx500 riders running this set up? Or what are you doing for carb heat?

I would make sure your intake is sorted out also snow is deep this year.. worst case put a valve to turn on and off on the I take and exit lines of the carb heater if you can fit the stat..

Absolutely need to have a shut off. Otherwise it bypasses to much hot water and overheats right now.

Thanks for the pictures that's reallly what I was looking for. I can't tell though did you make a little bracket for your thermostat or is it held in place well enough with the hoses? Also thanks for the advice on the on/off valve I wasn't sure if I would need one but I will for sure put one in now.

Well I got it put on today. It is pretty similar to yours but I had to angle it a little more to make it fit and had to cut a piece of radiator shroud off to. Here's a picture. Thanks for the help I'm heading to west Yellowstone tomorrow hopefully it works out.

I went back to tunnel cooler today. Ran the hell out of it on ice conditions and ran 125 to 135 all day.

Is anyone running the e starter from panthera or the mzb ignition? Just sitting here waiting for the snow to fly and was contemplating on buying the mzb ignition, a lot of good reviews on KX riders, when I seen that the panthera e start comes with one. Are any of my fellow KX5 snowbike riders using either of these products? I'd love to hear what you like or dislike about them. The e start looks nice but a little spendy.
