KX 500 vs CR 500 for snowbike?

Hey guys, Im looking at getting a different power horse for my snow bike, thinking of trying a 500 2stroke. I love my 300xc ktm on my timbersled, now to replace the 250f on my 2moto kit.....

Do you guys have a preference between the Kawi or the CR? Am i barking up the wrong tree completely looking for a 500? Just thought the power to weight ratio and cost of maintenance would be a good setup. Thanks

Great idea! Look at the Service Honda KX500AF project in this site. We did a ton of work and research getting a hot-rod put together. Either bike will work very well. The KX has a Nicisil cylinder and exhaust power valve. Other than that, they are brothers. Huge power and aggressive. Will pull a long track at full RPM in 3rd gear with the chain case geared 1 to 1. Amazing machines! Have fun!!!

Changed routes and got a 525 ktm. Wanted to get a 500 but the cost of adapting my 2moto ktm kit was almost 1800$!! ( required a different length ohlins shock) maybe someday on a timbersled...
