do the FI bikes have enough stator for a headlight and hand warmers???? looking at a used 09 for my Kid

Oh ya theres enuff output to run a light ,Cyclops makes a really awesome quality led light bar setup very minimal power useage ,would have to up grade coil to run hand warmers though

I bought a three way switch and made it so I could either turn the headlight or the handwarmers on individually. You normally won't need the headlight in the winter (at least I don't) and the handwarmers in the summer. It worked for me last year on my CRF450X.

I split the headlight 12v and ran the hot end to the switch, then one from the switch back to the cut wire on the headlight. Another line to the handwarmers from the switch. The third position is off. I bought a switch with a built in kill switch and mounted it in place of that.

So you take the 12v power from the plug thats behind the numberplate? I am planing to connect a led light but not really sure where i can safley connect it to the bike.

The CRF450X comes stock with a headlight. All I had to do is tap into the headlight wire behind the "number plate." On my bike I believe that is a 35W or 40W line, which is real close to what the handwarmers use. If your bike doesn't already have a headlight, I don't know if this would work for you. Most handwarmers say a 40W 12v power source is required. Take a look at a wiring diagram for your bike and see if there is a 40W line, and tap into that.
