KTM airbox and waterproofing

Anyone had success with sealing the newer (16+) KTM airboxes? My airfilter is soaked through the dual prefilters I run every deep day.

I've run foam tape on the seal area for the panel you remove, but it seels to be sucking the snow in under the seat. I'll line that we foam next I suppose.

Any thoughts or tactics that could save me some guessing?

Yeah, I ran a custom one I built last year on my 525... I just didn't want to hack this new bike up, but your response is likely the best answer.

box vs snorkels ?

almost identical 2013 KTM last three years of twice a week riding in blizzards yesterday and lots of nasty conditions.

my stock KTM air box with bottom cutout has never had a choking issue in handlebar deep powder. My riding partners on KTM and Kaw with snorkels, choke. We have basically had to make an air box around the snorkels, the snorkel was coughing some yesterday as I broke trail. 90% riding days snorkel no issues, but there are those days.

Does the bike get to thaw out between ride days or does it stay frozen?

You can just pop off the side panel on the deep days so that the filter can breathe and allow some of the snow to fall away and not build up. The prefilter will still do its job to keep the snow out of the intake. I wouldn't stress about some minor snow ingestion of the finer snow. Been doing this for many years on our snowbikes.
