Recently bought an 18 KTM XCF450 and installed my 18 Raw kit on it. Been looking around to find info on peoples experience with the air fork and failure issues. I have read quite a few reports of the 16/17 air forks failing in the snow but haven't been able to find much info regarding 18/19 bikes. Wondering if they made some changes that make these lock-up less frequently or if people just decided to add a trio or the like to avoid issues.

Brock Buttars, Brockstar, is your guy on ktm suspension -- 435-232-1604 Whether you use him or not, pick his brain for your options.

Yep Brockstar is the man!! Basically 18 and newer has the updated seal that has been holding up great. Send him your forks so he can valve them and your good to go!!

I ran stock 2018 KTM air forks last season. I set the pressure at 200 psi, turned the damping all the way slow and installed some neoprene fork covers. This setup gave me zero problems but I’m no motocrosser/jumper.
I read someone was using grip heaters on their fork legs. Heating the oil might be helpful for consistency.

I had some air get past the seal on my 18, not a ton but the forks sat lower. bled it off and has not been an issue since. I believe I took a large hit on a real cold day.
