Ktm 500 XCW power tips

I just picked one up this evening but, mine is a 2010 with a carb, so I'm sure it's not the same.

Mine has a FMF slip on and the stock header pipe with a JD carb kit.

The only thing you can really easily do is get the austrian map installed into your bike.. BUT I don't think it's actually being offered by KTM anymore, so you'd need to call your local dealers and figure out who has it saved in their local database, as KTM isn't offering it anymore through their XC1 replacement laptop anymore. I lucked out and got it done on mine, it woke it up dramatically, maybe a 15% improvement in power.

KTM isn't offering mapping due to california and their emission standards, but it is possible that some dealers might have a way around it still.. But it'll be a true enthusiast tech who knows what they are doing to get the map upgraded. If they don't know what you are talking about, then call another dealer. Good luck, I think you'll need it.

Otherwise, the Boondocker (or KMS) turbo kit is probably the easiest way to guarantee more power from your bike. The boondocker is one you can install yourself, thus why I mentioned it first.
