Pod filter

Wow that is a lot of work. I get rid of the air intake boot and mount the pod directly onto the throttle body. I haven't had any problems with snow on the pod as it is high enough up that the snow falls away from it and doesn't stick to it.
With your design, the air intake is so long that you might get into air mass inertia and momentum issues. When you get on the throttle it will take time to accelerate the air within the long tube. Once the air is moving, it gets momentum and wants to keep moving and you suffer forcing. All this is theoretical of course. If it works for you then its all good!

You are probably losing quite a bit of power with that setup... but I won't take away from your creativeness. Finding ways to use the stock intake boot to preserve the venturi effect are the best first method. You are creating a restriction of air flow into the stock boot with the pipe and the orange cutout. Keep in mind that a turbo system sock at the back also has a compressor shoving air into the engine, where as naturally aspirated bikes are pulling air in at dramatically less force.

Open that baby up... don't restrict it.
