i am installing a dual egt/rpm/water temp koso unit on my '12 pro rmk. got it mounted, and also thought i had it wired (of course, never the case 1st time)
i tapped into the red/white on the chassis/hood plug for the hot to the power lead. then hooked both grounds (for tach and power) together and hooked them into a lead that is bolted to the right (as riding) side bolt that holds front bumper to frame (opposite side is used to ground a bunch of leads from factory, so i assume that is a good chassis ground location. next i tapped the red lead out of the rectifier for the "red" of the tach lead. when i fire it up, the egt's work fine. gauge powers fine. problem is the tach is not working correctly....it jumps around from 15000 (which i don't think is correct at idle
) to 350 to 0 if i rev it a bit. i changed the pulse setting to 2, same thing. i have changed how i tapped in from my original hook up, to what is written above. each time it reacted exactly the same. anyone else had this issue? thanks in advance.
