Koso EGT power source ??

Putting a koso egt on my sled before I do any other modifications to it. I plan on putting it in the dash next to the stock guage. Can I just run these off the brown & yellow wires feeding the headlight? The directions show power off the headlight, and the ground going clear to the motor.

I ran mine off of the unused projector plug, red wire and then an unused brown wire for gnd.
