KOSO EGT Install

Pretty sure my buddy "Mgdjeepster" as he is known on here used the tail light power wire. PM him and he will let you know. Any wire that has 12v would work. Didn't that gauge come with a install sheet for what wires to use. Just start probing around by the ECM untill you find one.

not a good idea, has been known to cause the PV not to operate right. hook to the big red/blue wire, go's to ( can't think of the name) on the right of the sled above the shock tower. never had a problem.

That is where I tied in also.

But I understand behind the heat shield at the steering post their is an unused plug. It has a dummy plug/loop connected to it now. You can just tie into it with a plug there.

I didn't dig into it do much because I had already tied into the wire up front.

I had a heck of a time finding a 12v wire with the sled running. Something with AC and their power. Don't know for sure.

I ran this koso on my 07(can't remember where) and then this way on my 09, works great.

12v power source

I've used that 12v power source plug for my koso egts on my '07 m1000 & '08 m8. It works fine. On the 07 & 08 it was up high behind the metal heat shield on the left side of the steering post (if you are sitting on the sled). You'll could have to remove the metal shield to get to it, but on the 07/08 it was secured to the aluminum support about 2-3 inches from the key so you could grab it without removing the shield.

Try the plug, it won't hurt the EGT. If it freaks out or the numbers are dull, try the back up beeper. As I said above, the EGT is not a finicky as the o2 sensor as it doesn't need as much power.

I used the red/blue wire as mentioned above for power and it seems to work great.

On another note does anyone know where the best place to fine the RPM pulse is? If i don't get that figured out my gauges only stay on for a couple min.
