I was surprised not to find a thread for this accident anywhere on Snowest (perhaps I didn't look in the right place?), so I'm making a short one to make sure everyone has gotten the word.

Heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, community, and rescuers impacted by this tragedy.

Please be careful with this snowpack. For as long as this persistent weak layer is with us, avalanches can be deep, large, and unsurvivable.

RIP to those who succumbed. By the looks of things that was a terrible terrain trap. No way anyone should have ventured there.
