KNOCK SENSOR failure?

Hey just wondering if anyone has heard of the knock sensor going bad?

My ECU 21 flashes every once in a while. It came on twice on my last trip. When I shut off my sled and refire it the code is gone and most likely for the rest of the day. I put in 3 gallons of AV gas and it still came on once during the day so I used octane boost the next day and it came on one time agian.

This doesn't effect the way it runs when it comes on but would like to find the issue.

Thanks.

Any mods? Mine does it once in a while but I'm modded. If you have mods and a fuel controller add a little fuel at high rpm low throttle position if that makes sense. That's what I did with mine to stop it

also make sure its torqued to specs...which if you haven`t touched it it should be fine..

something else rattling will play games with that code..often people will throw a gob of silicone over their exhaust spring coils to prevent harmonics ,vibrations etc

I do have a few mods. I will add some more fuel to the controller. Thanks!

that is impossible

there is no high rpm - low throttle . the more you push on the throttle the higher the rpm so if you are at high rpm you are not on low throttle. add some fuel to your box if it's a dobeck style look at the colors of the box when it throws the det code and increase the fuel for that setting. ex. if it is yellow add fuel to yellow etc.

trail, cruising conditions are easy to get it, 6-7k and almost no throttle opening as your just feathering in and out... very easy to attain.

I don't have a Dobeck I have a Boondocker box so I will have to add some around mid throttle/ mid RPM and see What I can get.

Thanks!

the timing advances quite abit between 5000 and 6400 rpm then falls back going higher rpm so its an area to be watchful of...vary the throttle..more fuel..or a bit of higher octane...pick your flavor

In the boony box you can add fuel at say 8000 rpm on the low instead of medium or high. That way when you first dump the throttle after a long pull it wil give a extra sniff of fuel. That's what I meant by low throttle high rpm. That's where I was always getting the code and added fuel now its gone

I had zeros at low throttle/7800 and 8100 rpms. I will put a 1 on both and see what happens.

1 you may not even notice. I don't know what you got for mods but if 1 is not enough try 4 or 5. I'm running a lot of fuel through mine and my numbers are a lot higher
