So after one surgury on a knee and a recent injury to the other knee im looking to get some good solid knee support. Ive been looking at them for a couple years but my mind has been made up for me now. My question is to you guys and gals that have bought the good braces how did you decide which one to go with? Ive read through all the threads on knee braces so I'm not looking for the search the forum answer. I've been looking at the CTI, Asterick, POD and Donjoy. Looking to protect from over exyention and side impact if possible. Will also see what the Ortho says tom. when I get the results of todays MRI. Thank you in advance.

I'm recovering from a knee injury right now. Bought the POD's for when I'm ready to ride again.

I haven't done much with them other than try them on - but it seems like they won't do anything to prevent twisting of the knee. They could help prevent over-extension but that seems like that's all they would be good for. I may send them back - I haven't decided for sure yet.

I've heard good things about the Don Joys' - but they run around $800 each.

I'd also like to hear what other's think...

We have been testing out the new Atlas "WEB" Braces as of the last month, killer design! First moto based full on brace that we have gotten to stay remotely in place when riding. Problem most people have with these braces is they are designed to sit on top of a moto boot, which helps hold it in place. Snow boots are not that tall so they tend to want to slide down, but this new EVS brace has been incredible so far!!! Stoked to have found another option in the safety side of things.

I've had the DonJoys and the CTi's. Both custom fit by my Orthopod.

The DonJoy migrated too much on me... plus it is a step through design that requires you to take off your boot.

I have the CTi vapor sports with the patella protection... LOVE the brace... fit and function... and above all the protection that it offers.

CTI all the way! Have had mine for 12 years and have survived dirt bikes, sleds, snowboards and DH bikes. No failures and relatively comfortable (custom fit) My friends Asterik have been rebuilt 4 times in 6 years with similar use. $1000 per leg but if you have insurance, they might cover it. Asterik seem to work well, would be my 2nd choice, but $800 to buy, and 4 rebuilds at $150 each time equals $1400 and down time. get what you pay for.
