Knee brace and chest

Hi guys,

Probably not in the good section but i was wondering what you guys suggest for knee protection and chest/back/ribs protection.

I was looking at rs9 EVS knee brace and Leatt chest protector 5.5.

For the knee i dont want any velcro since they are garbage and always loose up and for the chest i dont want anything too big and that i can't move freely.

I don't want to cheap on protection parts so you can go all in or almost !

If you get a tekvest don't get a comp one with the shoulders. Gets kinda bulky if you carry a backpack.

And they aren't knee braces, that I have but they are shin/knee guards. I love em, they are light and have 2 straps each. Cheap, I paid 15-20 bucks at Bob's Cycle 6-7 years ago and they are still in great shape. These are one thing I wouldn't leave home without. I'll see if I can find the brand.

I was looking at the Leatt also and will probably go that route in the future.

All that said, if you want a comp tekvest, let me know. I will sell you mine.

Myself and 4 others in my group switched to the leatt 5.5 this year. Very form fitting, does a good job at spreading the load from my avy bag, love the integrated lumbar support. I previously had a Tek vest crossover which was nice but not nearly as form fitting as the leatt. Also, the leatt is CE Impact rated whereas from what I could tell the Tek vests are only rated as roost guards. Compared to my Tek vest the leatt appears to provide much more chest/back/rib cage protection. I took two very hard hits to my chest and hardly felt them

Thanks guys for the advices.

I went with :

Leat chest protector 4.5 :

http://www.leatt.com/shop/body-prot...ody-hard-shell-adult/chest-protector-4-5.html

Knee Guard 3DF Hybrid :

http://www.leatt.com/shop/body-prot...leg-3df-soft-adult/knee-guard-3df-hybrid.html

I went with the chest because i already have the lower back belt. And the complete vest look more hot and heavy than the chest only. For the knee, i like the hybrid because i had also the upper shin protection and the boots are already protecting the lower shin.

I'll review those products during the weekend !

Tekvest ... also helps with backpack weight distribution.

X3 for the tec vest

I Have recently switched to the snow pulse avi pack with built in chest tec vest and love it. its not a bad deal when you consider the price of two separate also wear my fox moto chin guards, best 20 bucks spent and light as a feather, don't even know they are there

Like a helmet?

BCA also has airbag vest with built-in protection I like mine. That same vest also has built-in a place for Beacon, radio and hydration compatible

I really like the EVS G6 Lite for the upper body. If you want a kidney belt you can go with the G6. The G6/G6 Lite add elbow and arm protection that the TekVest doesn't have which is nice to have riding in tight trees.

I used the EVS Epic knee guards last season but switched to the EVS SC06 knee guard. The hinge on the Epic was too bulky and the straps would unhook themselves. The SC06 are much more comfortable, the straps stay hooked, and they still have good protection.
