I have a KMOD on my sled.. It is a big upgrade to he stock yamijunk... friken hydraulic stock shocks....
Anyways, The transfer of the skid is much better. I noticed the ability to double moguls on the trail was much improved. Even with the limiters full out, the skis don't come up as high as they did with the stock suspension, though stiffness of the rear shock / spring has an effect.
I do a lot of jumping with my sled, and the valving that I originally got was softer then needed. I got the big boy (in the best Rob impersonation) spring and stiffer valving. I also had Kevin make a fox front shock for me. It is amazing how strong that stock front shock spring is... it is on little tough mother.. Anyways, with the valving and spring changes, the rear suspension rocks! I think I only had a couple of days at the end of the season with it in full operation (after spring and valving changes) but I now aim for big holes just to see if it can take it... and it can.
That was my motivation for the upgrade... to get the rear to stop bottoming period. I hate bottoming my rear (granted it should on really big, stupid stuff, but not 50 - 100 times every ride...

) The rear suspension now feels like my 440 rev did. I hate the feeling of riding hard in an area, then seeing a drop or hole and starting to pucker and cringe. Now I just gas it and make her take it! Yah, my running boards are a little bent.
Cons? Well, it doesn't drop as much weight as the timbersled... but I don't want floats... even though I have them on the front..

but it was the only thing I could get cheap. The other con would be I wish I had an extra grand to put exit shocks on it... Then it would be the bomb. But a grand for shocks? Then I would need another grand for front shocks to balance it out.... then 6k for a turbo...... yah slippery slope...
Oh, btw, I don't have a turbo, nor do I have the coupler blocks. I tend to like my skids more floating, and not coupled, though again, no turbo.
The instructions for the kit are a little lacking / confusing... At least for me. Though, writing instructions can be difficult to do... getting out of your own reference of knowledge takes lots of effort, and feed back from people.
As far as customer service? Top notch, I was contacting him numerous times getting the skid setup for my type of riding, and getting a new front shock built. I also incorrectly measured and drilled holes, and it was easily corrected with his help.
Final Verdict?
I like it, and would do it again. It will not perform as good as a 5k m10 or a 2.5k ez ryde, but those are 4 and 2 times more expensive.... You do get what you pay for... though I wonder how much I paid for the stock skid...
Hope this helps... remember though, I don't and won't have a turbo... so keep that in mind.
