KMOD Conversion Kit

Just wanted to give me experience on the Kmod conversion for my 2012 Pro.
I decided to go with this kit after pounding the moguls for 3 days in Blue River last spring.
The install was fairly easy, I had to grind away the powder coating in the rail windows so the plugs fit, other than that everything went togther real nice. I talked to Kevin @ Kmod a couple times and he was very helpful and available.
I took it for the first ride today over the worst trail around here and all I can say is WOW!! I think I sat a new speed record over that trail coming home; it soaks up the moguls just unbelievably; it just floats over the moguls now wheras before I just dreaded seeing them with the stock skid!! Alot less sag in the suspension also, I also can't believe how much difference 1 click on the Raptor rear shock makes.
Can't wait to get the sled in the mountains to see how it handles the steep and deep. I don't think I would own another sled without this skid on it!!

i just installed the full skid on my pro turbo with the raptors and i had a problem with the drivers ratcheting, i had to really tighten the track up so there is basically no sag to it when you lift it off the ground to stop this problem. Did you have to run your track this tight?

I had my track loose to the point where it rachetted with my old skid and there was alot of sag. That is an interesting point; maybe that is the only way of tuning the sag out of the Pro. I found the 10.5" of installed length was too long on the raptor so I tightend it up to 10.0" and ma gonna try that. After that I'll turn the clicker on the raptor up a click or 2. Right now, I have about 1.75" of sag; I had 4" on the old skid; I may tightend the track up a turn on the jacking bolts and see how it goes. It is fairly tight already; probably not to specs tight though.

Yes you need to run the track very tight with a full kmod skid. The track seems to loosen as the suspension compresses.
