What an awesome day for a ride!
*Only a foot, ego (the bikes, haha!!), and a fat squirrel were harmed in the making of this thread!

That's a good sign isn't it. Nice pics, I haven't seen too many summer pics of Mad Lake. I'll have to venture in there one of these summers, we only go in there during the winter.

Hunter's Shelter

That is awesome you brought that up, as a mater of fact it is in poor shape and looks like it will fall with a few more winters.

I was thinking while I’m joining the local rec club, I’d ask and see if there was some thing to be done to re-build or repair it.

Hopefully it is something that the FS sees as valuable and with user group interest and most likely funding they’d allow it? Then again, they might require specific engineering, material and permitting that might be a hassle but worth pecking away at with the possibility of some Snowest member's expertise?

Cool Moonman! Yea, that area is a gem. I can't believe it took me 3 years of having a cabin 7 miles from that area to get in there! It is easier to get to the top on a sled, don't have to mess with that last 100 foot rock pile!

Bummer...years ago we used to ride our dirtbikes up to the biker cabin and we used to stay the night there. If I had more time to go up there then I would and I would really like to fix it because it is a great place to stay while you ride.
