Klim Warrenty Question

Got in a bad accident this past winter, and ripped my new PowerCross Pullover. I know it says on their website that doesn't count as warrenty, but is there anyway i can pay them to fix it or something?

Yes, just call them and tell them what you want them to do before you send it. You need to call them before you send it anyway for a return authorizaton number. That number tells them what they are doing with it when they recieve it. Cannot send it without one.

Klim is one of the best Company's I've ever worked with when it comes to warranty. I will continue to buy their items mainly because their equipment is far better than anyone's and based off their warranty policy and excellent customer service.

i was just looking for an opinion on some of there items. I was looking at getting there powerxross pullover and extreme bibs. Is the pullover heavy enough to keep you warm on say a 0-10 degree day?

no.

best look at gettin a parka, or at the very least a jacket like the inversion with a fleece underneath it. 0-10? man, thats cold! :D

Klim is #1 in customer service. I have ran the Power Cross Pullover for the past two year (-10 degrees probably the coldest day) and it works great. I just layer up. I usually wear my jersey and Klim inversion jacket under it.

Yes i love the jacket and it held up to a beating this winter before forum member sledhead landed his ski-doo on me and his carbide ripped the arm and chest section of the coat.:D

I bought a Powercross Pullover about 4 years ago. I now own 4 of them and won't ride in anything else. I do layer it when it get's colder, but I've rode at -20 with no problems at all. Klim is all about layering. The Parka has no more insualtion then the Powercross. Having to wear an insulated parka is what inspired Klim to start making clothing to begin with. Insulation and work don't go well together regardles of the tempature outside. Besides, I like not having a zipper or flap all the way up the front.

Klim also builds the best layering clothing for hard riding in cold weather. They have done extensive research into how to keep you warm and dry and cool all at the same time. It has a lot to do with whisking moisture away from the skin and allowing it to evaporate into the air. Poly, fleece, Gore-Tex.

it works if you are into spending a few hundred more than you need to for products which are at the same level quality as others for double the price

Want me to forward some pics to them. Maybe they will feel sorry for you and fix it for free.;)
I went up to Double 2 weeks ago. Thought maybe I could pick up any remnants left on the hill. Holy crap it grows in thick. No way you could ever tell a sled touched that hill. Like looking for a golf ball in a cornfield.

Snowday, I have an idea. Why don't you recommend a jacket that is at least $50.00 cheaper then Klim that is build as good and will provide the same technology benefits such as wearability, durability, breathability, and waterproofness as Klim. I will pay to have an independant company disect the two and if they support your statement I will buy you the jacket you recommend. If there report states that the Klim product is better you buy me a new Powercross Pullover. Deal?

Don't forget that it needs to have a comparable warranty:D

once you go klim gear you will never be able to ride in anything else again and feel the same

do the layering system with klim and you will be very very comfortable on your sled or digging your friends out from being stuck

and at the end of the day your gear is dry your dry and nothing is frozen on your way back to the truck or cabin.

and you can not beat Klim's warranty best out there

if anyone has any questions at all about klim you can pm me and ill pm you right away

You need to realize that Klim does not offer any better of a warranty than FXR, HMK, Arctiva... The lifetime warranty that Klim advertises is only on the GoreTex which is a thin film on the interior of the fabric. There are many other products on the market that provide just as good of a waterproof and breathable coating to the material. Klim is the only one using GoreTex because they pay alot of money to flaunt that name on their gear. That is why they charge us, the end consumers, so much for the gear they make, they have to pay GoreTex a percentage! Arctive and HMK both use Reissa, I don't know what FXR uses. Once you have a film on the material it all comes down to the craftsmanship and whether or not the stitching is consistent. That is where you see the differences between the handful of brands who use the same materials. You also normally see the difference in the cost. That is what makes the difference between the $100 and $300 jackets. Klim on the other hand plays off of people not knowing any better and cashes in on GoreTex's extensive marketing accounts that were built by being in other industries that finally caught on to the fact that you don't need to pay $400 for a jacket shell because it has a GoreTex label on it.

The other company's mentioned make good products. If you like them better than Klim then buy their products. Klim is a good company with good customer service. When I tore my bib's it was MY fault, when I sent them in I was sent a new pair free. The tear had nothing to do with the GOR-TEX. I don't know what "jacket shell" you are refering to for 400 dollars but the Valdez Parka is the only klim jacket that is 400 and its more than a shell. The powder cross pullover is like 290 and the tomahawk is about 300. Even the klimate jacket sells for about 260. Once again I agree that other companys make good products. The pullovers from HMK and FXR are about 100 cheaper. My neighbor has a Kawasaki Vulcan in his garage that he swears is the greatest most reliable bike ever made and it's very cost effective....dosn't mean I'm going to trade him my Harley for it. It's all just what you want.

Very well put.

We all have the right to research products and choose which one suites our best needs. Honestly some things are just made cooler by being trendy, and it is a nice product. I bought Klim head to toe cuz I like it and it's the cool line to wear. I know there are a lot better or at least as good and cheaper ski wear I could buy. To me it's kinda like Harley guys decked out in hot leather outfits that says "Harley". I think it looks hot and corny (no offence). But if I go by a harley tomorrow, I'm sure I'll deck myself out in leather to look as cool as my buds.
BTW, my wife drives a Hyudai so we can afford to look cool.:face-icon-small-win

If what you say is true take the offer. Before you lose your money let me clarify a few things.

Gore Tex makes different qualities of its material. Not all Gore Tex is created equal. Having a contract with Gore allows you to use the very best product they produce. This is what Klim does, but it comes at a cost.

Klim’s warranty is not just on the Gore Tex. The warranty covers all workmanship and material. It’s true that if the defect is in the Gore Tex, Gore will take care of the warranty IF you are using their contract grade material which is what Klim does. Klim still covers defects in other materials and workmanship.

Klim has built and tested their gear out of all of the waterproof materials on the market today. They have done extensive research on each these products. If any of them were as effective as Gore Tex Klim would be using them. In fact, before Klim had earned the right to sign a contract with Gore they used these other products to build their gear, but the testing and research showed what Gore Tex claims, it’s in a class of its own. There is a reason it cost so much money to buy and use Gore Tex. It’s simply the best. At this point and time Gore is unmatched in its ability to keep you dry under the most extreme conditions.

I know other manufactures make good gear. That’s not the issue. The issue is, is it as good as Klim. Until they earn the right to buy and use contract grade Gore Tex their gear may be good, but it will never be as good or as dependable as Klims. Klim charges more money because they produce a better product.
