read the post where people are cutting down klim. Well I don't agree one bit. I have been riding with Klim gear for years and it's the best. My pants were a few years old and in need of repair so I called them and they were very proffesional. They said they would open a claim and gave me a claim #.
Being in canada I figured it would be a while before I seen them again so I purchased a new leftover pair of '09 klim pants (figured I would use my old ones as backups when they returned). I bought klim again because of there outstanding quality.
Well today I got my warrantied pants back via Fed Ex. (Klim paid for my shipping). To my surprise I opened up the Fed Ex package and there they were A brand new 2010 pair of Klim towogee Pants, free of charge. Free pants, free shipping.
I'm sure somebody is gonna jump in saying diffrently But those are my results with Klim and I would purchase Klim again and know many others who would to. Bottomline I didn't ask for anything free nor did I expect it, Klim made the call and I am impressed.:):):)

I agree. I've had great luck with the product and have had no issues when I needed something warrantied.

The "squegee" on my gloves was coming out, and they covered it.

I remember just recently someone posted their gloves weren't covered and klim said they had heat damage...the dude mentioned in his post that he handled his muff pott...and he was mad that klim didn't warranty his gloves...LMAO!!!

Good to see a positive post. Maybe the ney sayers threads are being read and they have had a revelation especially with a new kid on the block so there going to have to play nice now..I know mine were 2 months old and I fell off my sled on a super deep pow day and when I got up the zipper was out. Warranty was denied...."abuse"

Well you are certainly entitled to your opinion.

I love my klim gear to but i dont care the reason about denying some one when i bought klim just for that reason. Its pointless to pay twice as much and not get anything in return. I just will go somewhere else when im looking for gear next time. Nothing against them they just lost me as a customer.

I had a pair of KLIM radium boots that i bought in 2005,...great boots....but in 2007 the stiching started coming out in the right boot (they have now redesigned it). I called them up and told them that the boots were out of warranty but i would like to get them repaired.....they said they don't repair them but to send them in and they would look at them.....even though i was out of the warranty period.......they sent me a brand new pair free (no shipping charge either). So in my experience they are great.....I do own other gear but my coat (valdez) my bibs (togatee) and my boots (GPX and Radium) are Klim. Out of my 5 pairs of gloves 2 are klim (togatee & Powdercross) but my favorite pair is my True North Adventure Storm glove.

I use klim boots pants jacket and gloves nothing but the best ,tried everything else doesn't compare to klim.

Klim is a top notch company. They have very high standards in both product produced and warranty claims. They are also very well managed, built from the ground up. They don't get involved with all the hip on this site, or any other site. They don't deny warranty without a legit reason, and they don't feel a need to come on here and defend or explain themselves which is very smart from a long term business stand point. We get one side of every negative post on this site. Klim builds the best coats, pants, gloves, and boots on the market. You can stand on a soap box and argue that all day long, but the numbers don't lie. They don't build it or price it with the thought of selling it to the young, or inexperienced riders. If they intended to do so they would make their gear more colorful, the pants would sit at the bottom of your @$$ instead of the top, and it would be covered with skulls or some other type of graffiti. They know the guys who can afford to buy the best gear have outgrown colors and skulls, they also know guys this mature won't pay a rats @$$ attention to the negative posts on this site.

Can Klim be knocked off the top, yup, when one of two things happen. 1. The current owner decides to sell or go public. 2. Another company finds a way into a Gore contract. Until then they will remain # 1, and make the best gear.

I call BULLCRAP! I have personally owned and seen some of their gloves that they either initially denied and flat out denied when there was no, and I mean no visable wear to the gloves. I have over $2,000 worth of Klim gear and it's bullcrap when you have to argue to get gloves warrantied after 3 rides. I won't speak for warranty on any of their other gear as I have never had the need, but they have a real and documented issue when it comes to covering their gloves.

I also don't give 2 chits on who owns them and how the company is run. What I do expect is decent customer service on glove warranty and at that they FAIL!

I have had much better service thru thier dealers than Klim has ever delivered to me personally.

i believe things will change only when the public opens their eyes and see's that the main reason people are buying the product is because of film sponsorship, and other aggressive marketing and product saturation.
these film guys get the gear free and i guarantee if they have an issue, it will be resolved.its not that klim makes the best product.its because they marketed it well and most buyers are sheep. if joe so and so uses it , wow i need to have it. it must be good....please

p/s sorry for the rant, just a little irritated i got hosed again by KLIM

What are you 6 yrs old or what? (you sound like it). I put this post here to tell of my good experiences with KLIM. I have been using klim gear for 6 yrs and love it. It works in the most extreme enviroments. It's well designed, PERIOD. I have tried a lot of gear over the years and it didn't hold up near as well (not cheap gear either). You buy what you want and I will buy what I want. If you don't buy Klim its your loss I'm sure they won't miss your bussiness or your attitude.

For some reason I just can't help myself from chiming in on these threads. Probably because I posted a thread a while ago with pictures showing how my gloves deteriorated and they denied the warranty claim. I tried to search the thread but it must have got deleted. Anyways, some people thought they showed heat damage at the fingertips and that is why they denied the claim. Other people noticed that the stitching was coming apart and agreed they had the same issue. Who knows, maybe gloves are "unwarrantiable". I do like my bibs and jacket, and my boots are pretty good too. As far as Klim marketing to people "who don't like skulls and graffiti" that might be a bit of a stretch. I am sure there are plenty of people out there who could afford Klim, just maybe like to stand out a little more. (I am not one of those people) Spur, have you been to Pro-Lite gear in Bozeman? Have them do a demonstration of Gore-Tex vs. the new Event material for you. I know it opened my eyes a little and explained some things about the gear I own.

What did the demonstration show you if you don't mind?

Klim does not have the best gear! I personally will not wear it. It's fit, function and technology is way behind the ski industry. And don't tell me, "yeah, but it is more durable". If you are thinking that, you have not ever skied aggressively. There is way more twists, bends, bumps etc in a day of skiing than snowmobiling. If you take a top brand ski coat or pant it will be far superior to Klim. I ride in a Scott stretch gortex shell. I've had it for two seasons and it's still going strong. Fits excellent, performs well, is waterproof, windproof and actually looks great. Point is Klim is not the apex of winter gear. There are better products if people are willing to venture outside of their dealerships selection. BTW, there are plenty of young guys with money wearing a $500 shell with more technology packed into it than Klim, with colors or skulls on it because that is the style they like. It happens to be great marketing from some of these companies.....offering high quality product in a variety of styles. I'm not into those styles personally, but it is smart marketing. Of course I am willing to believe there are a lot of reputable companies putting out high performance outer wear....not just one(klim).

event vs gore-tex

What they did was stretch a piece of Gore-Tex fabric over a cylinder and a piece of Event fabric over a cylinder. They clamped them both tightly so there was an airtight seal over the cylinders. Then they poured water on both pieces of fabric. Both fabrics repelled the water equally. Then they pumped air into the cylinders and the water on the Event fabric bubbled significantly (which I guess simulates breathability?) and the Gore Tex didn't bubble at all. So unless they pulled some David Copperfield sh!t on me it was a pretty good demo. I would notice that sometimes when I wear Gore-Tex (i.e. Klim bibs, and Coat) when I would sweat it would seem to stay with-in the jacket and pants. This is with moisture wicking underlayers on that supposedly breathe well. I am definitely not denying the durability of Gore-Tex, nor it's weather resistance, but it was enlightening to see something else that seemed to perform just as well. I believe the Polaris line of clothing uses the Event fabric, maybe someone can chime in as to its worthiness. Either way, I know when I decide to re-gear I might look towards some different outerwear.

Go to Tudizzle's thread and take a real long and hard look at the busted seam on his gloves. Then come back here and HONESTLY tell us that was done because of use or abuse. You can tell just by looking at the failure that it was failure. No damage at all to the material. The thread just came out, plain and simple. Klim failed to back up their product in this case.

I wear Klim and I haven't had a problem but who is to say I won't. Klim may have satisfied you but they let him down big time. $100 or so out of his pocket for gloves is a lot more painful to him than them sending him a replacement pair. What are they out? $15 in material and $5 in wages to pay Wi Fling Pu to sew em up? Call me old fashioned but I still believe that a company should stand behind their product.

And if they don't change their strategy on the warranty regarding their gloves - it could be part of their demise - as you say , by not paying attention to the NUMEROUS complaints regarding their gloves. The rest of their products I agree are great. They need to get out of the glove-making business as they can not do it right ,won't stand behind them , and is only hurting them on their overall product line.
You sound like you might rep them , or have a stake in their company !
