Klim Radium or HMK Pro Boa's

I'm in need of a new pair of boots, as of now I have been using castle x and my feet are soaked at the end of the day and not enough ankle support for the ridiing i'm doing. Now, as for upgrading i'm debating on the new Klim Radiums which look like a more supportive boot, or the hmk pro boa's with the laceless system. My main priority is comfort and dryness, I will sacrifice having laces rather than wet feet. If only there were a gore tex boots with a laceless syetm. Any opions or suggestions would be great.

i just pikced up a new pair of the radiums and they do seem more stiff then others but time will tell, i just hope they keep my feet dry.......thats all i goin for

I love em....will never go back. I've never used the klim boots but I can tell you that if your lookin for support look no further than the HMK's. Ive ridden mine a few years now and they're great. I wear just one pair of athletic socks and feet are always warm.
X2.. i came from snowboarding to sledding so i really liked the stiffer boots, they keep my feet warm, dry, and i can run em over all day and not get hurt.

I had a pair of the klim radiums and thought they were too stiff and too bulky. got a pair of the klim adrenalines and like them much better. feet stay warm with just a pair of cotton socks and have never got wet. Happy with my klim adrenalines.

I rode all last season with HMK's. My feet were soaked at the end of every ride. This was due, mostly, to the fact that you could see my feet through holes in the soles of the boots. The soles didn't hold up at all, and the stitching on the upper didn't either. I thought they were really comfortable, and liked the boa system, but with the boots falling apart, and wet feet, I'd have to say they sucked.

I'm trying Radiums this year. The soles look WAY tougher than the HMK's. They're also heavier, which hopefully won't be an issie.

just went from some hmk highmark 4's to the pro boa focus boots. The new boa focus is by far the best boot i have ever worn. through 3 seasons i have never had cold nor wet feet.

yeah, I'm leaning towards the new Klim Radium Gtx's just because I feel it's a more guarentee that my feet will stay dry. And plus the soles are alot more durable than the hmk's. Any other thoughts to help persuade my decision. Also, where's the best place to get the best deal on these boots.

Rode 2 years on some hmk's and they have nice support but they did not keep your feet dry. When they were new my feet didnt get soaked, only a little damp but by mid 1st season my feet were soaked every day, souls were completel wore out buy mid second season. Last year i swichted to climb adrenialins and now feet are always dry, much happier. I wanted to buy the radiums for the added support but they didnt make a large enough size.

I love my HMKs, but they are NOT water proof. My feet never get wet riding my Arctic Cat, but I spent a day riding a buddies Rev and my left foot was soaking before noon. I did some reading on here and lots of guys say that wet left feet is a common Rev thing. Most said the only solution was Klim Gore-Tex boots. Some modified the plastic so the water wouldn't pour down on their left feet. If you ride a Doo I wouldn't buy the HMKs. Like I said, I ride a Cat and love my HMKs. No experience with the Radiums......I wanted a laceless boot.

I had the HMK's and now I have the Klim Adrenaline I agree 100% this is EXACTLY what mine did. I love the KLIM gear!!!! Head to toe in KLIM and will never pick another brand now!

Don't know about the Klim's, but I did notice they were really heavy compared to the HMK's.
I love the support of the HMK's.
Last season at Lost Lake I twisted my ankle real bad and broke it, but it was a killer snow day. So I just sucked it up, tightened them up really good, hit the cough syrup hard and rallied for the rest of the day.
Don't think I could have done without them.

Wet Boots

I am not familiar with either boot. I have HMK Highmarks. Feet always warm, but usually have water in boots. Dump water out, wring out socks and dry overnight. Just put on dry socks and do it again the next day.

For hardcore riding nothing from the sled world can compare for support, balance, and agility of the HMK Pro Boa Focus. Staying dry is a matter of keeping your gator down and most critically making certain that you start your day off completely dry (obviously an exposed hole doesn't work either!). We ride multiple days with no breaks and if you started with sweaty or wet boots they would always be damp. Light socks, good fit, gator down over the tongue (high waters and stomping around getting snow rammed into the tongue is a recipe for the swamp...they are warm so sweating can also be an issue), and some people with very sweaty feet need powder. Do this and make sure they are dry to start with and you will have great performance from the HMK boots.

Another option for 2009-2010 is the new HMK Voyager boot. Waterproof and breathable lace up boot that appears similar to the Klim GT. I have all of these above so we will get a chance to test them in few weeks as our riding season gets rolling.

When making your purchasing decision you have to consider the actual style of boot you want as well as the brand.

Though we don't ride in the depth of snow that is out west I love my GTX's NEVER.NEVER.NEVER have had so much as a damp foot. Had Castle boots before and had to buy a 2nd set of liners to swap back and forth.

PS..reread the heading...absolutely no contest between the radium and the HMK pro boa boots. The HMK's are a total standout between those two. The closer contest is the lighter Klim boot to any of the HMK boots and then refer to my original statement.
