I am trying to guage the interest level in having a national avy expert come out to the West Yellowstone Expo and/or the Jackson Hill climb.

Klim would cover the expense thought there may be a $10.00 fee to make sure people come through with the commitment once they have signed up.

A Is that of interest?
b Do you think people will want to spend 4 hours in a class while they are vacationing?
c Do you have any ideas of how to make this idea better, we (Klim) would like to provide a service to our customers, and make the show more useful.

Very good idea.

My hats off to you, and to Klim for coming up with this.

This last couple winters should prove avy education is essential to all of us, whether we high mark or just watch.

I hope you get some takers.

I attend one a year, and always learn something new.

My experience has been that there is a lot of interest, but few actually show up. But don't let that discourage you. Those that do show up, appreciate it and they may be someones only hope of going home to the family some day.

Good Luck
Joe

Take a $100 dollar deposit, fully refundable when they show up and complete the course.

Have it in the evening from 6-10 or something. I'd go if I was in town for it.

I don't think that money will make anyone commit anymore, it will just discourge them in signing up in the first place. I think your best bet would be to have it free and do a good job of advertise that a free avy course is taking place (anouncement at the hill climb?).

Here are the details of the free class that may be offered by KLIM at Jackson during the hillclimbs if there is enough interest.
We are looking at Thursday or Friday evening from 6-10pm (March 26th or 27th). Please email me at: duffyww1@aol.com if you are interested and let me know which day would work better. Thanks, Mike

snoww1,

What an opportunity (no charge).

That's quite an agenda you have for one evening. Going to be interesting class. Wish I could attend.

Thank-You for doing this for those interested in attending.

Joe

Class update:

KLIM has decided not to do the class.

Sorry for any inconvenience. I am looking into doing the class on my own as I do with most of my classes. I will post information as soon as everything is arranged and if there is enough interest. The fee for the class would be $45 per person and snowbigdeal.com will offer a discount on avalanche gear to all who attend. Please let me know if you are still interested. Thanks, Mike Duffy
