Got a good season with my Klim helmet and no the thing never ever ever melted snow on my brains, this is only said by peolpe who dont have the helmet

The point of this topic is to address the plastic fins that break off, the other 4 guys i know that have this hemlet all have broken fins.......is it a big deal?.....not really, its just looks kinda ugly

Yes i know Klim will send me some new ones.......this is not my concern, the real fix would be to replace this plastic peice with a rubber composite that will stay in the helmet when you dodge and tree and the tree wins

How many oyther folks think these fins need a ver 2.0??

I didn't have any fins break off on me last season, but then again I really didn't ride a whole hell of a lot this year either ... maybe 500 miles total between two sleds.

I didn't spend a lotta time off-trail either due to having a sled I didn't trust :(

I dunno, next year I'll let ya know how many I break off hahaha :D

But overall I still really like the helmet. . .

If the Klim helmet is Snell approved then any add on that is 5mm from the shell has to be able to release in an impact. That means that it would be held on by tape. They do this so that it does not turn your head by grabbing something causing injury to your neck. I rubber composite would stay but would probably cause additional damage to your body.

That makes sence, I had broken a couple off this year my self. The new ones they send are taped on and seem to hold better than the factory ones. All in all I thought this was a good comfortable helmet. Early in the season when it was really cold the venting was a little cold. But as the season warmed up I really liked the venting. For someone who's head gets hot it really works nice. Looking forward to seeing how it works for summer riding.

Only real complaint I have it that it was hard to find googles that fit the helmet most are to small, Scott makes a good over sizes google that fits nice, Oakley are to small some Smiths are ok but have not tried many others.

And you ain't any cooler cause you don't wear it. Not wearing something just because a lot of other guys wear it is also reeaallly lame.

So are the new fins warranty or do you have to pay? Not to worried about paying a bit to replace them, but I would count it as a point against if I was shelling out 50 bucks for new fins every year. Really like reading the threads about this helmet cause it sure sounds and looks nice, especially for a summer/winter lid.

The ones I broke this season were warranty. Just had to put them on myself.

I still don't understand why people have such a problem with this helmet. It's not like it is a modular or something. It really is a nice lite wieght unit and is comfortable to wear.

Guess some people just can stand to be left behind.

Thanks that is what I wanted...still would like to know about 2 years down the road, or how the replacements work?

What... holding beer isn't cool? Damn't I'm a tool again:mad:

Now lets not dog Klim...if you saw the big fellers front bumper on his "lady" you'd know he "uses" his stuff:beer;:beer;:beer;

Another statement made out of complete jealousy. I suppose you still think you look cool when your holding a beer to don't you. Time to grow up.

Fer sure fer sure.
Everyone knows you have to be driving with the beer between your legs to be cool!

Exactly what I was told by Klim when I broke two of my fins. They are cheap and easy to replace.

Have you wore the helmet on a hot day or when riding hard to feel the vent system. I think it is awesome.

I also don't have all Klim gear but there is nothing wrong with spending money for comfort. I guess you go around kicking everyone's *** who dresses in style. if they want to spend the money then let them... who gives a $hit?

Are the fins the horizontal piece that covers the ram air vents on the back of the head?
