Klim boots

Hey everyone, me and a buddy each bought a pair of Adrenaline boots at the snow show here in Calgary. I really liked these boots, when it was cold out our feet were both warm and dry. Now that it's warm out our feet (espcially the left) are soaked. I think it was Walt Healy's display where they had the boot partially submerged stating they were waterproof. My questions are 1anyone else experiencing this? and 2 Do you think Klim will do anything about it. I haven't spoken with Walt healy yet to see what they have to say about it yet....

Thanks
Chris

If your boots are leaking water Klim will replace them. GoreTex provides Klim with equipment to test for leaks in all Gore products. If they leak they will be replaced by both Klim and Gore.

I own 3 pairs of these boots. I have never had one leak. I rode today in some snow that was almost water after about 2:00. I was dry as a popcorn fart.

I have a pair of the older Klim boots and the new ones (Gore Tex). I sweated like crazy in the old ones. My socks were almost always wet but they never leaked any external water. The new ones are much better in terms of the sweating problem. My socks gnerally are quite dry after a ride with the new ones on. Again, there is absolutely no exteranl water getting in. Several of my buddies have HMK boots and they have to put garbage bags on their feet to keep them from getting wet externally. Garbage bags are not real good at breathing though. IMO, the Klim boots are the best on the market by a vast margin.

Make sure that you are not wearing cotton socks. They will hold the sweat water and make you think that your boots are leaking. I wear the KLIM socks and must admit even though I am a tight wad, the $20 for the socks is well worth it. In my experience, KLIM has always taken good care of the customers.

Make sure its not sweat first.. I would be willing to bet it is. Put the boot on at home and stick your foot in a bucket of water but dont submerge the boot and see if it gets wet.

I have a pair of Adrenaline GTX Klim boots and do not sweat or get wet at all. In fact the next best purchase that I made was a pair of Klim socks also!:)

I have the radium's and my sock's are almost always wet when it is warm out can't tell if sweat or leak but they are 3 year's old too .

Socks

I doo wear the Klim socks. I will try the pail o water trick. My feet were warm and dry up untill the last 2 rides.

thanks for all your replies
Chris

My feet are soaked after every ride, but thats probably from the gaping holes in the bottoms. Yeah it is from my summit running boards, but I thought the soles should have held up a little better than they did. They lasted about 6 weekends before they had holes in them. Hopefully I can find somewhere to just get them re-soled. Love the boots other than that.

Wet foot

Had great luck with My Klim Adrenaline boots for the first 10 - 15 rides but the last three times I have been out I come home with a wet left foot! I wear the Klim socks and don't sweat a lot. It seems like the boot is leaking through the material behind the laces. I took the laces out and looked really close at the whole boot, seems and all and it looks like brand new. The soles have some wear but nothing more than a deep scrach in the tread. I love these boots and by the sound of it most people doo to. Have to talk to the shop I got them from and see what they say.

If you ride a Skidoo your left boot will sweat, especially if it is warm out. I have the older Klim boots and the clutch heat makes my left boot feel like there is a gallon of water in it.

Have had the Adrenalins this season and love them until this last trip. Day one and two: wet right foot, day 3 and 4: both wet. This is not sweaty wet, it is leaking wet. Got home and dried them out and did the sink water test. Had some rocks to put in them for a good soak. Filled the sink 4"-5", dipped for 30 seconds and water was leaking mostly around the tongue area. Called Klim and they said "We're sorry to hear that, they should not be leaking. Here's your case # please ship them in ASAP and we will get them back to you in a week." We'll see where it goes but I would guess they will take care of it aside from being out of boots for a couple of weeks and my shipping charges.

The one thing that concerns me is they did not last a season and the day they fail could be the day I need them the most.

3 rides ago it happened to me also. wet left foot, couldn't figure out what it was. The last 2 rides, have been fine. I'm thinkin when I tied them up the tounge wasn't tucked in good or something. Not sure, but they have been fine for the last 2 rides. This is my 3rd season with the same Klim boots.

Same problems as stated above, at first left foot was getting soaked now both are soaked. Souls are almost gone and season isn't even over yet. I am not impressed. These are the new Adrenalinge GTX boots, I bet they do some design changes for 09.
