Klim Adrenaline - Rails are eating them alive

Anybody else having problems with their rails chewing the soles of their klim boots off. I have only rode 5 times this year and the soles of my boots are in sad shape I don't see them lasting the season. I haven't called Klim yet but I did talk to helmet outlet where I bought them and they said that they would have to talk to Klim before they did anything for me.

I have the same problem with my boots, but they're just snow boots... i'd figure sledding boots would hold up a little better than that :(

Contrary to what some people on here think, not everything Klim makes is golden. I've had their gloves and they didn't make it past 5 rides before I had to replace them. Funny thing, I'm going on my 5 th season with their bibs , though. You should of seen what my last sled did to my North Face boots, I was lucky I didn't cut my foot on the rails before I retired them.

I ride with a pair of burton snowboard boots. I have used them for the past 2 seasons and the boots look like new, I have a 03 summit not the most aggresive rails but boots hold up really well. I know a lot of people that don't like how stiff the boots are.

That's what you get when you support the greenies with North Face stuff!

I know, I know, I have an opinion about everything but.......

I had a pair of HMK boots that I litterally chewed the soles off with my running boards but it was after two seasons of riding. I now have the Klim boots also and can see signs of the same but..........
Would I give up the softer soles for a harder slicker sole? NO I've had those too and I would rather have the traction. Do I think that a boot should last longer than two years (average 20 rides a year)? sure. but on the other hand I've had running shoes that have only lasted three months and I paid almost as much for them so..........

Maybe I should invent a replace-able snap on sole that you could buy for 50 bucks and thow away after every season....... then you'd be happy?

Have rode with mine for about two years and no problems....but the running boards anre usually so pilled up with snow that I am no actually standing ont the metal anyway.

Me edge wore out the soles of some crappy a/c boots and then I just shoe gooed the bottoms for another couple seasons before I spent the $$ for new klim boots and love the klim. Keep in mind that some boards are real cheese graters. Can't compare gen II boards to raw at all, the raw are fuggin mean.

I'm about to find out

I've actually had the same thought go through my mind as I'm cleaning the snow off of my 08 M8. It's nice as I'm doing it because it cleans off really easily, but as I'm doing it, I think to myself "I'm probably going to end up buying new boots in a year or two aren't I?"

Give me a season and I guess we'll see.

Seems like I get a season out of a pair of boots before the soles are worn off.Running boards just eat them up, 07 summit,07 RMK,an 02 RMK before that. The 02 would melt the boots from the heat running thru the rail edge coolers in low snow.Guess its just the price you pay to ride? You know you need an old pair of boots in your truck anyway, for when you end up in the ditch and aren't prepared or to lend to your friend who left his at home in front of the heater:eek:

mine are awesome, got about 150 mostly mountain miles on them so far, and still look new:D We'll see how they hold up as the miles rack up, but so far, I am impressed:)

My Radium's are ~ 4 years old now. They've shown more wear on the new sled in the last month then they did the whole life of the old sled.

The new rails on the boards are designed so sharp I've seen em cut people that were trying to help me work on the bugger.

Same here- 2 years on my klim's then I got my 07rmk. 2 rides and I can see my socks. I did contact klim to see if the soles could be replaced but no dice. Those boards are just gnarly but I love 'em. Gonna try a liberal layer of shoe goo each ride as the uppers are still like new.

I wear Burton snowboard boots and they are doing the same after two years. Kicking out the snow and ice on sharp rails is going to tear them up. JMO;)

What do you guys think is it too much to ask for a pair of snowmobile boots (Klim Adrenaline) to last a season. Not even half way through the season and mine are completely shredded, I have tried to deal with Klim on this but they tell me that I am the only person that has contacted them about this problem and they don't want to warranty them.

Maybe I am way off hear but if I was going to produce a snowmobile boot I think I would design it to hold up to the normal wear and tear of everyday snowmobiling.

Lets hear what you guys think.

I have the same problem. But can you blame Klim? They are just using a typical boot sole. It is a little soft, but a stiff one will do the same. I was going to hit them up to have them re-soled. If anyone has info on that it would be great.

My other solution is that I'm going to install F-Bomb's Better Boards and hopefull that will stop me from kicking snow out so much.

I have the Radiums and they are holding up well so far for 12 days of riding.
Take a wire wheel to the edges and break the corners. it is amazing how sharp some of those extrusions can be.

I have a pair of the Sorel Glacier snow boots ...

After 2 seasons of riding, they're showing wear on the treads but it's nothing excessive I'd say. A couple of the knobs are worn off ...

I immagine they'll probably get more worn this winter riding with the snow eliminators on, but that's ok ... if I gotta buy a new pair of $100 boots every 2 or 3 seasons in order to not fall off my sled and rack myself on the seat I figure that's an acceptable clost :)
