I was up today to help the F/S clear some trees off the trails. As of right now there is about 5" of snow at the higher elevation and about 2" at the parking lot. The beaver ponds and most all creeks and springs are still open.

The trails are officially open Dec 1 but the roads are still passable to vehicles so most if not all gates are still closed. They hope this will eliminate any conflicts with snowmobiles and trucks.

It was about 6 degrees and snowing when we left this evening.

If you should go out with the new sled, conditions are very marginal and every one needs to use extreme caution. We cleared trail C, little b, and George Noble ( Bottle Creek) if any trees are encountered, please let someone know so we can get them removed.

The groomer wont go out until there is about 2' of snow. So don't expect any sign of a groomed trail before the second or third weed of December. I'm being optimistic.

Went up Sunday and as expected there was only about 6" on average. There was a couple trees down leaving the parking lot headed towards the beaver ponds, lots of open water around the ponds so use caution. There appears to be about a foot of fresh snow Sunday night.

On the lighter side, The 850 runs GREAT.

For those of you wondering why the groomer hasn't been out yet, he needs about 24" of snow to run on and then there is a temperature cut off of -10, below that is a no go. His plans are to go out tonight and Tuesday just to pack roads. We plan on going out Wednesday and opening as many gates as we can and will report back to Jeff and everyone here the snow conditions.

We were out yesterday, the snow is still thinnnn so use caution. Jeff has been out in the groomer and has went west towards Onion Park and east over Jefferson to Spur Park and says the snow on top is mostly non exhistant in the windy areas. We opened gates on the little h trail and then the gate on each end of the C trail as well as the gate on little b. The gates at Higgens Park are still closed as well as the George Noble trail. The snow through the Black Forrest was 12" to 14" and no more. The parking lot had snow in it but was packed. Stay on the trail through the beaver dams or you could be in the water. I think Jeff said his next day out would be Christmas eve unless we get 2' soon.

Wish there was better news.....

Was up today. It snowed pretty good till 3. Pretty thin up there can still see the grass in a lot of spots and where it was deep you sunk to the ground. Going off trail you are hitting alot of stuff buried beneath. Crazy for this time of year.
