Kingcat/1M chaincase pictures

I was putting my 04 Kingcat chaincase back together last night and realized that the front mounting post for the chain tension spring never had any washers on it, only the spring held by a cotter pin. The rear spring post on the moving idler had three washers all on the engine side, then the spring, then the cotter pin. Is this how it should be? The online fiche seems to be the same as what I have, but the manual has some pictures that show the spring captured on both sides by washers, front and rear.

Anyone have a picture of stock chaincase to compare to?

The washers were on the backside on mine, They must have reconfigured the setup at a later date! No washers on the front spring as it is stationary.

They use washers with springs to help KEEP the spring in place. Now with that said sometimes washers are used for alignment so check the alignment of the rollers compared to the chain and go from there.

pull all the spring and tension parts out except the one behind the jam bolt and put them in the round parts bin. free weight loss

Yeah for sure with the leaving the parts out. I always just put one washer behind, and one in front on the tensioner spring. Just to make sure it didn't come off. It won't affect the alignment of the rollers.
