King Cat Track

Right now the sled has an A20 in powder position. What would be better put screws in the A20 or go to a challenger 2.25.....or any other comments about tracks that have worked good with this sled

though i never tried them , screws i think would help in icy conditions,. i have tried many tracks but bang for your buck, the powderclaw is the best i've had. hands down... the attc 20 was a great track in powder but sucked in everything else. the powder claw is for me the best out of each put together.

a ton of info on the a20 just use the search.
the best is to but it in H.C and straiten the paddles with a torch and vice grips with 2, 6" pieces of steel welded to them. heat bend strait and let cool, do not over heat the paddle.

Second on FOMOCO's reply. I've got '05 M7. Put screws in the A20 in powder mode. Floated like a champ, screws helped in the hardpack, but felt I couldn't climb in the powder. Didn't straighten or run in hillclimb, but I understand it can work good that way although going downhill is pretty much an out of control experience. Went to the Cat challenger, improved the bad things but worse at the good things compared to A20. Put PC on last year. Does the good things the A20 did as well or better. Solved the bad from the A20. Best track I have ridden. If you ride nothing but flat powder and are just looking at the screws for trail riding help, it is a cheap, reasonable solution. If you go up and down I'd move to the PC (or run the A20 in hillclimb and always carry a couple of anchors to throw out when going downhill).

once you have it in HC for a while it stops better the the PC on the down hill but the lugs have to have time to take a set.

Well, boys, I just put a 2 1/4 Challenger on my KingCat, but I have not tried it in the snow yet. I took off a 16 wide Maverick which was not to bad except the soft lugs would not stay on the track.

Build you some of these, turn the track to HC and start straightening. Works best with a 12 pack of bud light golden wheat!

The track has about 1200 miles on it. I have heard that this is long enough that the track has taken enough set if I flip it around lugs might start coming off......any truth to this?

thanks for all the advice

have owned several king cats and tried several tracks on them. The 2.5x16x162 challenger extreme is awesome on the king cat. It can turn that track with no problem, fits right in the sled, and will perform much better in the powder than any 2.25 track.
