King Cat Jetting?

Last year my 04' 900 King Cat burned down (I think a clogged fuel filter did it) and I'm wondering if I should change the jetting before pulling the cord. The manual says 360s are good for my elevation (6-9000 ft) but I've gotten recommendations ranging from 340-420.

What would you guys use on a stocker? Should I go a size richer on the mag side? Also, should I switch to 04' ZR900 needles? If so, what clip postion?

I got a head and pipe on mine and run 360 at 8000 to 10,000' I'm sure I could go down a size or two depending on the temp.

I'm not going to try to guess why your sled burned down. That sucks.

if you are idling and your sled comes out of the hole good, without falling on its face then you are probably alright.

needle valves controll the top end. [drop the clip and that raised the needle which richens the sled, and the opposite leans it up]. if you run it wide open for a few seconds, then shut it right down and check the color of your plugs, you will know the whole story. If they are white then you are burning way lean. if they are a brown color then you are dead on, and if they are black then you are rich.

hope this helps.

I am running a single slp pipe and can with a little compression increase at 6-9000 ft. I am running 380-390's with needle next to the top slot. I will move the needle down one slot at colder temps. Like 20 below. Otherwise everything works fine. You can run these big bores with extra gas to them with out them minding very much. I also am running stock pilots and stock needles and stock needle jets. with the pilot screw at 1.5 turns and the fuel screw at 1.5 turns
