anyone been riding with one does the hood cause problems when your helmet isz on opinions?

I ride with one on the cold weather days. Love the hood for the BS sessions and keeping warm. Love it.

This parka is an amazing piece of gear. It may be a little ahead of its time with the external hood. It was designed so that the hood lays flat and stays flat while riding. It won’t fill with snow like most guys think it will. Like Randy states above, it’s convenient and great to have when you stop to chat. Gore-Tex Performance shell and built with plenty of room for aggressive boondocking. 100 grams of Thinsulate insulation for days you know are going to stay cold. One of those pieces you have to ride in to understand how purpose built it is.

That jacket would be a great jacket, if the hood were removable ! Take note Klim!!! With the hood not being removable, its pretty much an expensive "around the town" coat and a useless sledding jacket no matter what way you spin or market it. Make it a zip off and that coat will sell like the day is long.

Check this from Yesterday. Full on Pow Session, then I stop to help my pals dig out and chat, toss on the hood that was dry and clean....it works.
Love the Boarder/Freeride style and will always grab this garment on the nastiest of days. IMO it is the sleeper in the line up and value leader. If its not Gore its not for me And this is all Gortex........Love it

I like throwing on the beanie I stick inside my jacket. Keeps me warmer than any hood will. Just my opinion

The Impulse parka was designed in conjunction with one of the best boondockers in the business and was a sellout piece last year with the attached hood. We don’t expect it to be for everyone, but it was purpose built for riders who want the hood and understand its purpose.

I even went one step less and went with the stow away jacket. Hood folds, I like to layer and go minimalist on the shell. Gore tex, light, breathable, packable. I think this jacket will be a home run. Will report after some good rides on it.

I rode in the stow away 2 years ago. It worked great in a layered system, and even better in the spring. Be careful in the trees, the stow away is a lighter shell and doesnt hold up to trees like the other jackets do.

The impulse is a great jacket. On snowy days just wearing a beanie will still get your head wet. The gortex hood will keep you dry. Its a really nice option to have. Pretty sure the naysayers have never worn one... but its not for everyone and Klim has plenty of other options if you dont like a hood...

Rode with the Impulse all last year and this jacket Rocks!!! I felt it worked good in all conditions depending on how you layered. I do own the powercross pullover for real warm days but have found the impulse to be my go to jacket.

Not the Klim one specifically.....but I have always ridden wearing jackets with attached hoods without issue. Keeps the wind off the back of your neck and gives you an option to keep your melon dry sans helmet when you stop.

Rode with my new impulse suit all weekend in big snow and absolutely love it. The high collar and hood is the main reason I bought it. And its awesome.
