Who has kids that ride with glasses and what kind of brain bucket do you put on them?

Full face gets pretty fogged and so do his glasses. I don't think I could get goggles over his glasses??

Heated face shield?

What do you Dad's do?

Thanks,
DUB

I have been wearing glasses for over 40 years.

One of my daughter's is legally blind and must wear glasses to correct her lens implants.

Find a brand of baby oil that does not hurt your eyes. To see if it does not hurt eyes put the oil around your eye now ... even getting it in the eye.

Be brave Dad it should not hurt one bit. Try one eye at a time .

Get a ziplock bag ... put some lint free cloth or a couple cotton swabs. Sparingly put some baby oil in just enough to soak. Personally use dried up baby wipes and cut into squares nfor lint free cloth. Wet baby wipes have alcohol and dilute the baby oil to a useless concentration.

Then apply the baby oil using lent free cloth or cotton swab to lens.

When done use the oily cloth to start the barbecue / campfire.

I have full helmets and MX helmets for the 4 children.

With an MX helmet you can get a goggle with a NOSE GUARD and wear the MX helmet with the nose guard outside the front of the helmet.
It creates a gap so air can come up under the cheek area and let moisture leave the goggle more.

With full face you have to teach them to leave it cracked open to minimize fogging.

Sears has/had a deal for two REC SPEC sports frams with prescription for $99 as long as you were under age 18.
I think this is a good deal or you can get a pair of "granny" wire frames and use them but I think the REC SPECS are cool !!! At least my kids think so.

Hope this helps

My son does have some sports glasses but has not tried them for riding yet..

He does do the full facer with it cracked at the bottom for air but the wet, wet WA pow can get pretty bad! Was kind of wondering more about the heated face shield also?

Heated face shield keeps the face shield from fogging .... not the glasses.

I'm 41 , but I tell my kids I'm only 24. I'm sick of fogged glasses and goggles. I use a MX brain can, and I've had glasses since i was 7. SOOO I think I'm going to go to contacts this winter. Maybe try the the lasik next yr.

get a electric sheild for your full face..no more problems..same for the kids...

my little bro uses a heated face sheild with a breath gaurd that does not let your breath go in your helmet it works fine. also there are over the glasses goggles that are meand to fit with glasses. Scott makes good ones

i have just gotten used to using an open face helmet with googles. only time i have an issue is when i get a huge face full of powder, and then my glasses and googles may start to fog up.
in past years i would get disposable contacts and only ever used them for dirt biking and snowmobiling. After my experiances last year i am going to get the contacts again, they bother my eyes a bit since i don't use them all the time, but thats a lot better than fogging up and getting stuck in a bad spot IMO

Hi Dub. Im 24 and i ride with glasses. and i never have a fogging problem now...

I use a Klim F4 with http://www.habervision.com Glasses. Check out the Prima and Riva. One of them have OTG- Over the Glasses- and They Provide stellar vision. I can see in flat light where everyone else is blind.

With my habers i have 1/2 -3/4 of a inch or clearance. Also. Scott makes a Turbo Fan goggle that is also Otg. Ive been talking to Oakley also. there making some also!

Its out there you just gota look. Also If you look on habervisions website they have a Fan as a Assessory for 60$ u can install in ur glasses. total ur in about 130 dollars. or you can spend 160 on the scotts. No brainer here....

GoodLuck. BF.

Habervision makes a fan as well. It is called the Haber Eliminator. This fan has a humidity sensor built into it, it turns on when humidity is too high within the goggle and then back off when the levels are normal. This saves battery life. It is designed to fit over 90% of the goggles on the market. THey have package deals to save your more money when you buy both a set of goggles and the Haber Eliminator.

That Eliminator unit looks pretty sweet, wish there were a couple better pictures of it mounted on goggles tho! It just clamps over the ribs above the main area of the goggle where the foam is i take it? Definitly have to check this baby out.

I wear glasses, with an open face helmet and goggles. Good goggles a must, but try a product for skiers called "Cat Crap". It is for glasses and goggles, comes in a small red container, rub it on until lens is clear, helps alot.

As to when the kids ride with me, it depends on size. I don't like a big helmet on my 4 year old daughters head and neck so she uses a skiers helmet, goggles and baclava (however this is spelt). Light and effective, never had a problem with her being cold.

My eight year old uses a full face helmet with the "Cat Crap" on the sheild, and he is good to go.
