Just happened today! Still rode it back 30 miles, luckily the trails were flat! 5th gear pinned! Fingers crossed, made it all the way back dumped the bike in the driveway! Fml

wow! the sides of the spindle completely rolled in! and clamps broke! that must have been a record class "slight bump" ? Glad you're okay. Parts are easy to replace. yikes!.... yes, the spacer between the rear of your spindle will prevent rotetion of the clamps with a hard hit, but a "hard hit" may be too much for the forks if there is no "give" down below. It's a fine line.
