kelsey conditions

just got back from d lake, rode kelsey yesterday, conditions were the best of the year. there was a good foot of new powder, and very light and dry on the north faces and shaded bowls. snow is pretty thin until you get up on top, then there was good coverage, you could boondock just about anywhere. the lower part of the burn was pretty set up, but up top there was some nice powder, anything above 6000 ft was good riding. as a bonus we met drew bledsoe (the quarterback) in the d lake lounge, he was up cat skiing for the day

Sure hope you left some untracked for us. Heading up tomorrow for the weekend. Unfortunatly it will be with some trail riders but was promised I could get off the trail every now and then. After today Wish i was heading back south to Shasta.

just want to let peeps know that the trail from diamond down to hwy 138 towards windigo does not get groomed and there are downed trees, most are small and no prob except for one large tree that is elevated off the ground, we built a snow ramp to get over, be careful.

sounds pretty dangerous, i would avoid that area at all costs!!! nothing down there but rocks and trees anyway...

I have to say riding up to Kelsay from Lemola Lake made me feel like I should have been riding my quad instead. And after the last 2 seasons and seeing not a stump or what not around, sure made it hard to get around. Still some decent untracked away from the trails but still not like you want to see it. Settling out quick. Snowing hard and left an inch while we were riding out so there is still some hope. Hopefully we are having a late winter.
