From Kieth Curtis:

Polaris Snowcheck question of the year with the all new Axys: 155,163/ 2.6 or 163/3"? Both killer options but some advice from a guy who has ridden both options several days....
The snow conditions while riding the Axys was soft complimented with steep terrain on North facing aspects and layered/harder snow on other aspects.
The 2.6" is the most versatile track on the market and weighs 45 lbs! Industry leading lightweight track there! It doesn't fold over on hard snow condi...tions, yet has the flotation needed for soft snow conditions. The 2.6" track comes stock from the factory with 7 tooth drivers which offers a little lower gearing, which in the end increases belt life and gives the sled even better throttle response.
The 3" track is a great track for its purpose. Point and shoot on a 3' powder day! If you want something that will walk over your buddy's T3/174 on the deep powder days this would be the best option. The gearing with the 3"/chaincase is around the 2.52 gear ratio.
My honest opinion to all: Snowcheck a 155 or a 163 2.6". Best all around sled for the riders who ride several different snow conditions throughout the year. (Which who doesn't)?!?!
The Axys 155/2.6" track is my sled of choice, in Orange This is one bad machine and its capabilities are endless!! The new engine rocks, the change of geometry on the sled makes the sled feel ALIVE and its lightweight feel/rigid chassis, and narrow body is on another tier than its competitors! The Polaris Axys isn't full of "gimicks", but it is the most lightweight, rigid, powerful, responsive snowmobile on the market!
If you have any questions hit me up! Snowcheck is here for a limited time. Get your options dialed now so you are ready to slay it next season! There are numerous snow check options to give your sled a personalized touch. Kurt's Polaris and their knowledgeable staff will line you out on your perfect Axys snowmobile!

If they'd send me some hi-res pics of the black one to post up...I think that might give the orange a run for it's mooneh.

Why would Polaris choose to emulate the gay / gross colors of the Doo's and the Cat's? I for one won't be buying one of those ugly colored sleds.

But I was born in the 60's when the more earthy tones were in style.

I don't need a loud colored sled to attract attention.

What, more hill pumpkins!!!!!!

Tony.... I am a little partial to orange. :face-icon-small-win:face-icon-small-ton

I think the Orange looks great. In Keith's picture you can still see the snow sticking to the tunnel, don't let the cat/ Yamaha guys see this are they will have to make a new video about there competition.

Sorry, if I let my daughter choose, I'm sure mine would be every bit as colorful!

Hope that is more politically correct.

As a lot of other adjectives ran thru my mind that were not nearly as family friendly. I'll go back under my bridge now. LOL

No harm, no foul here, or however you want to say it. Just given you a hard time.

I went bright for two reasons. 1.) its what my two little girls wanted. 2.) I was all black before and my buddies always complained they couldn't see me.

I suppose its time to get back to Scotts original subject...:face-icon-small-con

dang it scott ! this thread is gonna have my friend up nights he was really torn on the 3'' vs 2.6'' he wants a 155 for sure he ordered a 3'' but could change it ????
i told him try the 3'' and if you hate it i would bet some one trade him out
for the 2.6 and drivers

Or get a 3" and if you do not like it you can cut it down some. I have rode with a lot of people with the 3" track and trust me ( or not, your choice ) they are much more versatile than just a point and shoot 3' powder day track. Just my opinion. Just like Keith's.

It's all about safety...bright colors are easier to see...

The 3 inch gets such a bad rap on here...it's a good thing this site isn't a mountain.
