Keith Curtis dominates Jackson Hole!

I gotta give props to KC711, he can ride. Also kudos to his support folks. They are equaly as impressive.

The vintage DS sled brought back the old days for me. I'm sure DS Sr was lookin down on his boy with a big grin. We didn't catch that sled much back then.

I also want to throw one out for Erin Beukelman. Not only can he ride but he has some crazy sleds. They ran the best of all this weekend. He was all over that hill. Even though he wasn't in the last race of the day, he should have been. He represented Polaris extremely well. He is equally as good as KC711.

But the talk of the hill had to be the lines young Yamaha rider Gaven Balls was pullin. He went where no others would. He will put Yamaha on top again.

16 years catchin sleds and now we have 360 to make it 17. Hill crew in March is life at my house. We had 16 guys in Team Wyoming and gate 10 on the third was unstoppable this year for ghost riders. I was so proud of the guys. They made some crazy stops and came up smilling. TW 25 vs ghost riders 0. Two riders took theirs off themselves but no lost sleds this years.
Great year Gents. Let get to planning next year.

He obviously is consistently above the competition race to race. I would love to see him switch from brand to brand. It obviously isn't a very big challenge for him. Too bad Cat and Polaris are the only committed sponsors in the circuit. It would be cool to see him go from one brand to another the next several years before hes done racing, whenever that will be. Just ask Mark Thompson and Ryan Zollinger, there is always some young buck coming up to take over at the top.

He also won the snowbike challenge on Saturday on the new UFO snowbike kit in a rematch against a Timbersled Mountain Horse both bikes were KTM 450's with boondockers turbo power, the UFO bike had no traction screws,8 lbs boost because it was a new motor,Timbersled had traction screws and 14 lbs boost.Keith had his UFO kit installed less than 2 weeks ago and then was sent to have the turbo installed he had hardly any seat time on a snowbike, the Friday race he was way ahead and the bike got hot because of tuning and Timbersled won that day. They were able to tune it better early Saturday for the rematch,he is an amazing rider

I know he doesn't have a skidoo skid on there but it looks like it's rocked off axis to the viewer's right.

That's a lot of flex.

More like ez-ryde motion:face-icon-small-win

Like rmscustom saidm EZ-RYDE. Nearly everyone had that skid tho. Whether everyone had the new one or not I cannot say. But I doubt the 711 was the only one.

From the looks of it I'd say its the new one.

That's what I said. I'm just not aware that everyone had the new one or were running the fixed style. I doubt he was the only one running the new one.

Yeah you either edited while I was typing or I misread before I typed. lol

Anyways there is suppose to be 5 of these skids made and being tested. How many racers had them I have no idea.

Haha. Yeah, I added your name to the sentence. No worries. Like I said, and you confirmed, there were a couple of them on the hill for sure.

One other thing was watching Sheppard (sp) take his dad's (Dave) old mod sled over the top. Listening to them old open pipes clear to the top of the hill was pretty cool. I was there when Dave was riding that chassis and actually talked to him about buying it.

Best run of the day IMO, here is the vid of it.

Goosebumps. What a beautiful sound, wonder what Toby thought of the handling of the beast! Beautiful sight watching that sled on Snow King again!

He is on a complete different level than everyone else. The Tapios the last few years always gave him a run in the mod classes but they looked very human this year. Not sure it's good for RMSHA though to have someone that much better then the rest. Guys don't want to compete for 2nd. It seems snocross has dropped off the last few years with Tucker dominating. RMSHA entries are already down that's why they are letting guys enter 5 classes now instead of 4 like always. Hopefully it will bring more excitement with such a superstar but I guess we will see. He is a great rider.

More videos of the snowbikes to come. They are being edited and will be uploaded hopefully this week. It is from the hill crew perspective and is scary how close we were to this crazy event. KC711 had gotten close on the Friday race and was all over the place.

That is a great point of view from a sponsor or corporate level. Personally speaking, as a ex-racer....it just makes me think that these other guys get more fired up and wanting to train harder, have better dialed sleds, and prove they are his equal. That's what kept me going week in and week out. The drive to better yourself is ingrained in a racers blood. I think it fuels the fire personally.
Snocross problems stem from sponsorship dollars. Not lack of interest. Having been a team manager for a ISOC snox team in the past, I know its all about the dollars, not will to win. When you need to have a day job to pay for your racing it becomes a huge disadvantage compared to a guy being paid to race.(in Tuckers case) Not to mention his mechanics jobs are to be his mechanics, they don't have day jobs like so many others in the pits. (And now I've gotten sidetracked) :D

Here is a message Toby posted after the run.:face-icon-small-coo

David Shepherd: One last ride to the top. It's hard to put into words the emotions that were flowing today. I have dreamt of a run like this since I was just a kid and was never sure it was going to become a reality. I was given the opportunity to run the hill on my Dad's 700 Mod sled which he built from the ground up, in honor of him. This sled is over 15 years old and I was astonished with the way it handled, the amount of power, and how smooth it was. Dad had this thing dialed! Proud to be his son and proud to honor him in such a special way. He inspired so many people in this circuit and the support from the crowd, racers, and staff was unbelievable. A moment I will never forget, in memory of #22!

The highlight of my weekend was riding my dad's 700 Mod sled to the top, only to realize that it was on the 22nd "sled is #22", and my ride to the top in a 1:12 matches my dad's time on his last run on that sled at Jackson 14 years ago!
