Keeping ramp doors from freezing using plastic refridgerator panels

There was a thread about using that hanging plastic refrigerator door strips to seal the opening for the area between the ramp and body of the trailer. I've tried searching but can't locate it. Anyone recall seeing it.
Thanks

Are you talking about the strip installed on the floor to keep snow from packing in between the door? It is in the Enclosed trailer tips Sticky. Or are you talking about the clear walk in freezer strips that hang from the ceiling to keep the weather out when the door is open?

I just have a broom to sweep that area. Then it encourages me to sweep the rest

I've been thinking about using clear packing tape all the way around the door frames but keep forgetting. It is quite a pain when they don't open!
One time I was just lucky to get my walk through open to karate kick the big doors while two buddies pulled on the outside!

Just get UHMW cut into the right width(I would use 1/8" thick) and screw it in place with countersunk screws..the snow/ice wont stick to it....

It was in the sticky for trailers. I ended up buying a used treadmill belt for pretty cheap. Once it gets here I'm going to try it and see if it works. I too would sweep out the snow and ice but eventually the ice builds up on cold days and effects how the door closes.

Yep ,I'm talking about the hanging plastic strips that you see in either freezer doors or refrigerated doorways. I know I saw it here on snow est forum.
Thanks

What are you using the hanging plastic strips for? Are you going to use them to keep heat in your trailer while the door is open or for like you asked to keep door from freezing? I would think that they would work better at keeping heat in. I would just spray the door seals with a silicone spray to keep moisture off thus keeping them from freezing to the door. I know that is what I've done in the past with great results.

I think he is talking about keeping snow out of the door sill. Simply spraying them did not work for me. Snow and ice gets in and clogs up preventing the door from closing easily.

Trails West trailers have a piece of plastic from the ramps to the main floor. I'm guessing it's the hanging strip stuff cut to length and clamped/bolted to the floor with a strip of metal (aluminum I think). I have seen those strips and they are not cheap to buy, but I may buy a couple and try to cover the ramp to deck transition to keep the crap out of there. I also spray my ramp seals with an RV seal spray, made for the seals on slide-outs.

MT Boondocker;
That's where I went and got enough for the front and rear doors for my trailer. I'm going to install them using strips of sled guides made of plastic so the carbides don't catch on any metal. I hit one of the floor hold down ties last year with a ski and about ripped my arm off.
I forgot what I paid for the strips but it wasn't bad. They sell it buy the foot.
