Kalispell riding areas?

Looking for someone that is familiar with the Kalispell, Mt area... we are staying in Kalispell between Christmas and New Years with my wifes family. I won't have my normal crew so probably won't be able to do much off trail riding. But is there a trail system I can take the wife and kids out a couple days? Thanks for your help!

There are few different trail systems that you could take the family on. One i recommend is riding up to the summit of big mountain ( Ski Resort). I wouldn't recommend going down the south fork along the reservoir. The trail isn't groomed and it will rattle your teeth loose

One more question... What is the elevation.. roughly.. of the riding areas there? Also is there normally snow in the Kalispell town/area? Or do you you have to travel out to find any snow?

The elevation is 3000-6000. Town is about 3200 and top of the ski resort is ~6500. There is normally snow in town around Christmas time. There is a big weather pattern moving in today and through next week. Snow pack is pretty slim right now so im hoping this storm produces what it is supposed to.
