Good to hear pinko, was it cold in there? Heading in this weekend hopefully get some fresh snow

Oh yea it was definitely cold. The truck was reading -28 when we got to the staging area. One of our guys had his Duramax gel off a fuel filter and die on him around km 145 or so. When you heading in?? Supposed to be cold until monday I hear.

Hopefully be heading in for Saturday, been in when its -30 or so at the staging area but had it warm up quite a bit once we got out past the Cabins

Yea we were hoping to make it that far, I know it usually does get quite a bit warmer when you get in there. Oh well Maybe Tuesday if it warms up.

Anyone at kakwa recently? Has the trail been groomed? Snow conditions?

The trail is groomed but still rough. Few feet of pow but still iffy in some places, was nervous of whats underneath still

Went into kakwa on thursday, wow really cold sledding. Thermometer at cabin read -27, it was -31 at the parking lot. We were the only two dummies in there that day. The snow was set up but untracked and nice. We went into babbet and around to flattop but it was too cold to enjoy the hills. The trail was good considering the groomer has only made one pass to push the creeks and pull the shoulders. It also may have seemed smoother because we couldn't go very fast or we would freeze.

Gonna be some nice riding when the weather smartens up!!

How was the road into Kakwa? Planning on going this weekend

The road was pretty decent last week. Was plowed all the way into the staging area and not too rough.

Who is all riding kakwa for newyears?? I'm stoked, I've never been to the newyears bash out there but I will this year!!

quite a few of us go annually, best party there for sure. You'll know our group when you see us, I ride a gen2 polaris with a 1200 triple in it and an m-10 under it, theres a yellow racer x turnkey zx based full mod in our group with an 809 in it, and an old custom painted blue 780 with a shiny tunnel and bling all over it in there too. We'll be at the lot on party night!

We might be coming up over new years. Not to sure yet. A friend of mines uncle has his old converted bus parked there. we'll be staying in that. If you see guys there you know who it it.
