K mod thoughts

been looking for a new skid and narrowed it down to K mod and timber sled. i like the weight of the timbersled, but I'm 225lbs. and do a lot of jumping. anyone on here running a k mod on the nytro and does it help from stock ?

I purchased my Kmod back in November and made sure I got the stiffer set up from him. The install was easy as it was a new front shock and new rear scissor/shock set up. The only thing I had to modify on the rails was 2 new holes for the rear scissor mount. I think this is way better than having to cut up the rails.
I run the rear hard, like my old MXZX 800 on the trails and jumps and I think it does better.
You will not get the weight savings of the Timbersled skid but it can be more abused and is cheaper!($1260) Plus if you are looking for something that can withstand the jumps and bumps just take a look at the amount of the threads on here about the bottoming Tsled set up.
I ride with a guy who has an APEX 162 with the Tsled set up and he wishes he went Kmod after seeing how mine has handled and the lack of maintenance (or parts replacing) that I've done compared to his.

As you can tell I'm opinionated toward the Kmod set up but that's because it works great for me.

Best of luck on the decision.

For cost effective I would go with kmod as well as I do not want to be back in and be broken. They say timbersled is great in the powder but I hear kmod is good as well. But neither one of them will change the track aproach angle with their standard kit. I personally am looking at the M10 W2 Airwave or fabcraft maybe ez ryde as well. I know the fabcraft with change the angle as well as the ez ride but I am unsure about the M10.

I may still go with KMOD. For you alaska guys if kmod is not changing your front arm I am thinking about bringing mine to palmer machine and having them weld up one out of 4130. I am not sure how much weight will be saved but I know it will save.

my Kmod suspension have 10 000 km, one of the first generation. Broken the H-arm, but newer suspension are stronger. Ride is really great, not sure if it really help in deep snow, but be sure to have the transfer block if you have a big track or big power.

I run a KMOD on my nytro... no boost, stock length. I really like it. For the cost it works really well and even sheds some weight too. It works so much better then the stock hydraulic crap that yammaha put in for 08. I don't run the couplers, and I have the heavy spring on mine, as I like to jump my sled.

I run a KMOD on my turbo 900, Kevin is great to deal with! Would run another without a doubt!!
