K mod rear skid in an Axys.

Yes, worth every dollar. The scratchers that are pictured here are NOT what is supplied in the K Mod kit.

This is the tricked out version (except for Ti springs): Ti Arms, carbon fiber rails, K Motion.

I am just curious why you have everything except the ti springs? Do you not like the ride with them? Thanks for the input.

Thanks Richracer
I have the same suspension on my Tnytro, makes the sled handle like a dream on the trail and keeps the front down on all but the steepest slopes. My only worry would be to lose some of the deep snow ability that this sled has.

You won't loose anything, in fact it might get better.

I have never experienced as much ski lift on a stock sled before as I have on the 163 2.6 Axys. I did not upgrade my rear shocks this year as I have in the past knowing I might upgrade the entire suspension. I'm big on comfort and control for my sleds. I've even had the old metric M-10's when FAST first made them. The Kmod suspension I thought was a good suspension for turbo'd sleds. Now that the Axys is producing more HP and tends to have a lot of lift, I'm thinking I need a Kmod. I've owned raptors before, great shocks.

To those that have installed the Kmod on a non-turbo, is it completely worth it? By the time a person spends $1200 on just shocks, you might be better off just throwing in the complete suspension upgrade? Any input? Thanks LH.

Your getting a bargain @ $1,200 for shocks-
Before we did the K-Mod/ I got with Paul and did the 8's on the drivers-
made the sled flat out perform better in the getting/staying on the snow- The K Mod topped it off and generally only have to have the adjustment in 2.
Drop and Roll will be the summer project and this will be with the belt system..

One thing to keep in mind when thinking about the cost of the turn key kit. Generally buy one Kmod turn key kit and it will easily fit the other brands. For instance, buy one for the Pro-RMK and if you decide to buy a Doo, call Kevin and order the Doo spacers and front & rear arm cross shafts or if you go with a Cat you'll need different rails. All of his turn key skids use the same front & rear arms, shocks, quick coupler adjustment, K Motion, and hi-fax.

Just playing devil's advocate...I would be worried that the transfer to get on the snow could be ruined. I don't see anything wrong with the stock setup but I haven't ridden on any other Axys skid. I could see updating the shocks. $3000 is awefully close to a turbo and I'd rather have that.

Turbo is already ordered thus upgrading the skid imo is a must.

In a week or two I'll be posting an in-depth review and video of my Kmod on my N/A Pro 155. I've been running it for 3000 miles with various amounts of hp and traction.

I'm getting a 163 Axys next year, boosting it, and getting another Kmod.

You can set it up to be geometrically and functionally identical to the stock suspension if you so choose. They are extremely adjustable. I set mine up to transfer more than the stock suspension and then use the coupling block to get myself up and out of the steeper/deeper climbs when I want to keep the skis down. You have limiter strap, front track spring, front track clicker, rear track spring, rear track clicker, coupling block, and optionally the adjustment of pivoting vs non pivoting.

I'm 100% satisfied with mine and am getting another one. Super durable, super smooth, super adjustable. All things the stock suspension is not.

There are ZERO concerns- as I posted above mine improved with a Kmod skid
The one thing that you would notice is switching drivers- that where the gains can be, improving the approach angle.
I went the other route in the past and spent the big $$ on a turbo- only to find out that the handling of the sled in the stock form flat out became .. well... it sucked..
K-Mod's brought it back to a controllable skid and a fun sled.

Big diff over stock get z bros shocks w 36" front and you will see a whole step above a stock axys

I'd take a stock sled w good suspension and clutch kit set up over a turbo sled stock suspension any day but that's diff subject... k mod is sweet
