just took my o9 m8 out for a ride at 1000 ft with mds weights seemed to perform well but i was over reving a bit so im gonna call steve tommorow to see what i should add with my over all seemes really good just gonna have to race some guys to really see whats going on here

how are you removing the bolts that hold in the weights. I tried to change mine and after removing the set screws I couldn't get the bolts that hold the weights , it seemed as if they were pressed in and I didnt want to beat any harder with a hammer. are these usually hard to remove

Are you talking about removing your stock weights for the first time? They are usually tough to get out the first time. Once the set screw is out, free up the weight so it can spin. I keep a ratchet on the bolt head and spin it as I tap on the other end. The proper sized punch is key, as well. Seems like my 2010 was harder to get the bolt out than my 2007.

First day of testing and we saw a 200-300 rpm increase in engagement. Is anyone seeing changes in track speed at mid range rpms compared to what they saw with stock weights? We've gained 10 km/hr at 6000 rpm. Its like its shifting into a higher ratio quicker.

- heat up the set screw with a small propane torch, 10 secs of heat should be enough to weaken the thread locker
- remove set screw
- take a punch and tap out the center bolt, notice each side has a super tight bushing, super tight is good on this application:face-icon-small-hap
- i like to trace the weight with a tap if said weight is used again
- take a pic and get remove the thread locker that is in the center bolt set screw hole
- put stuff back together
- line up the set screw hole with the center bolt hole nice and good
- heat up the hole for 5 secs
- heat up set screw 5 secs
- add some thread locker to both the set screw hole and set screw
- install and tighten while its still a bit hot
- wipe up thread locker funk

be happy:face-icon-small-ton
