Ssssssmokin!! Jealous for sure, felt bad cutting holes in my panels for vents before it's seen snow haha.

I spent some time last season on a Mtn Tamer, Didn't like it one bit! Took all the fun out of the chassis, the stock skid is way better! Maybe the New Mtn Tamer is better?

If modding her is wrong...I don't want to be right. Isn't that an old R/B song? :face-icon-small-win

I know the feeling but I'm coping with it. Looks like you have a nice project on your hands, should be a runner!

Maybe I missed it but is that a 600 or 800 RMK?

What are you going to do to your clutching?
Will you need to fiddle with it due to the different track?
I've read that once you get the cluthing dialed in on these, they really rip!

A friend of mine is running a TimerSled Rear on his 164 XP, and loves it.

I think when I pick up my Pro, I'll go for the KMOD rear. I like the simplicity....

Good list of mods...she's gonna' BRAAAAAP!:face-icon-small-coo

Seems right as rain to me!!!

Congrats on your new ride and welcome to the (pro)pack.

Looks pretty normal for any sled in that shop!

Very true!! I just haven't ever tore into a brand new sled before! Always waited a little while.... lol

I'm smokin? Or the sled it? hehehe, Nice to see you this past weekend! :)

I don't have any reference for a Mtn Tamer on the PRO but absolutely loved mine on the IQ chassis and with Allen's perfectionistic approach to how a sled performs I wouldn't expect anything less from it on the PRO. Did you contact him with your concerns? And what was it doing that "took all the fun out of it"?

800

Will be going with the 7 tooth drivers and my understanding is that that will cause a change right off the bat. Will probably ride it first to see what it needs, unless someone has a good baseline to start with?

I could be wrong...... But I thought the 7 tooth 2.86 drivers caused the track to rub on the front arm. Seems to this came up when guys were talking about putting the 7 tooth driver on to gain more clearance for 2.5" CE.

Personally, I put on the 3.0 involute only drivers that Avid makes for Carl's to run the PC. The guys at Carls have been running the involute only on turbo sleds without ratcheting problems. I'm NA but ratcheting has not been an issue at all or me.

Not to sound like an a-hole.... But cutting your rails to get the necessary clearance for the extroverts seems like a lot of work for something that proper track tension can take care of ( not ratcheting that is).

Regarding the Timersled, I'm sure it is just a matter of finding the right balance of front and rear shock in the skid. With the stock suspension, if you run a stiff rear skid shock in relation to the front skid shock, it feels like the sled doesn't want to turn. I think you will find a great setup with the Timbersled skid after a little on snow testing.

Can't wait to see action shots of you ripping that thing. I love watching my GF ripping on her 2011 ProRMK.

Confirmed:

Quoted from Robbie at Avid in another thread:

"Anti-ratchet drivers on a Pro
To install any 7 tooth drivers on a Pro, you will have to pull the chaincase and have the case modded by FTX. The track will hit the chaincase with anything smaller than 8 tooth 2.86" pitch drivers."

Don't feel too bad B, I took the plasma cutter to mine within an hour of picking it up.:face-icon-small-hap

Yep, I know the feeling Brandy, mine got shipped right to Holz's for him to set up for me, by the time I came over to check it out, it was already torn down.

Ice Age manufacturing also makes modified chaincase. I will be running the 7 tooths with Timbersled skid as well with the Ice Age Chaincase. Will be blogging all about it soon enough.

Patty are you switching to Polaris!?

Murph, you don't sound like an A-Hole, sounds like you are sharing opinions and information!

I started putting extroverts on when I had the Edge chassis and have just kept doing so. But I am wondering now, with the newer nicer chassis if extroverts are truly needed? I don't remember ratcheting once last year in 2 months of riding the demo PRO. But that was with the stock track. With the CE maybe extroverts are needed due to the rubbing, to keep the track moving??

Any input here?

Diamonddave, thanks... ;) No name yet. Waiting to get her on the snow, show me some personality! hehehe

4z, that means you have to come ride with me! YAY!

BC, what project do you have going on?

Brandy....

Ran the Pro all last year, no extraverts, no ratcheting on the CE...

However, I do have the center window cut-out in the CE and running the stock anti-ratchet middle driver. Unfortunately, you don't have the CE with the center window.....? Hmmmm?
