Just purchased an 07 600 cfi Switchback for my boy, need input please!

I am going to gut the front radiator, change gearing to 19/41 (2.16) and try to make it a little closer to an RMK.

The sled has a 144" 1.25 track, 65 gram weights, 64/42 helix, black/grn primary, not sure about sec yet.

Am I on the right track (pun inteded) here?

Suggestions please........

YUP.. Make Sure when you do take out the Rad.. you change your therostate to the 800 sp 163" one.. For a clean look use the 2 hose bottle too..


Where are you riding it at? 5,000 to 8000 or 8000 to 11,000??

Thanks for the response... We ride at 3-6K.

I cleaned a ton of belt debris out of the clutches/bulkhead last night from a 751 mile sled that king of bothers me! So I will go with the gearing and chalk the dust up to a rookie rider hammering on the sled..

Also..

Make Sure you put the Derlin Washers in the Secondary..

and Duct Tape the Air box shut.. the middle seam..


I would also do a Air Horn..

opps..

If you do a lot of open grass areas.. or Cotton Tails..

I would Strongly Suggest to clean and take apart the upper air box in the hood area..

wow after one ride... DIRTY..

What year is the 800 T-stat you are talking about?

I would realy like to find a 2" track to put on this thing too!

The Thero.. is a different one.. with a larger bypass hole.. and the bottle has 2 hoses not 3. for a clean look..

Then find a 3/4 plug to put in the hose on the bottom of the thermostate.. I cut 1" long 3/4 round stock..

Yes.. 2" Track was a Huge Improvement..


I do have a 144" 2" paddle track Ported.. 260$$

144 x 15 x 2" Camoplast Track.

With screws in the paddles for strength..

and ported..

We have the exact same sled. It runs strong,the only thing I noticed that it has a slight bog when hitting the throttle hard. I took out the shelf above the radiator to let the air flow a little better.On warm days it seems to run a little warm. It's my wife's sled and it only has about 180 miles on it. It's a fun sled to ride.
