I know a great way to manage wolves. An old outfitter (he's gone now) used this technique up here and it worked very well. He would take a beaver carcass and load it up with poison then freeze it solid. Then haul it out onto a secluded, hidden pond and chop a hole in the ice and freeze the beaver into the hole. He would check the bait every day and pile up the carcasses and burn them once the beaver did it's job. He said the wolves will stay right there and keep chewing on the carcass cause they can't drag it away. This prevented spreading the poison throughout the other animals in the area and also managed the wolf numbers quite nicely
