Just in time for wolf ruling Monday...120 sheep killed by wolves in Dillon, MT.

I was just about post this as an update to the wolf tag thread, but I see that you beat me too it.

Perfect timing is right. This happened last week, but I can't belive that the papers reported it today. Maybe they forgot that today was the big day. Ralphie even indicated that he thinks that these wolves should be shot. Hmm, he seems to be a little more temperate these days

This news is also likely to tempered some with the news that 6 wolves were found dead North of Fairfield. Poison is likely the culprit here, but it has not been confirmed yet and thankfully willl not be until after the ruling.

BTW, you have not been to Blaine County lately, have you Scott?

So now we get to see if the whack jobs like wolves more than they like sheep. Any guesses?

The poison thing is scary though. Some people who live a few miles from me had two of their dogs die because someone put out poison meat. The story broke my heart because this guy took the first dog to the vet as it was convulsing and the dog died before he got to the vet. When he came home is other dog was dead in the bathroom.

I can't wait for the wolf hunt. Shoot 'em dead.

So now they are going to have to pay that poor rancher 45,000 dollars for his lose in sheep. When will it end?

Is it just me or does $350 for a "purebred" sheep make you think someone is getting screwed?

Was there in April and at the end of July.

It doesnt matter how much the sheep are worth. These wolves took away these peoples livelyhood. When is a animal worth more than a persons welfare. These animals need to be managed now.

I agree.

Does anyone know where the funds come from to pay ranchers for their losses?

Nope just taxes. I would imagine when they say what they need for their annual budget they include x amount of dollars for paying ranchers when predators kill their livestock.

It was so sad to hear they found 6 juvenile wolves dead north of Fairfield, an even dozen would have been a much better number.

Gut shoot 'em all....

I have a close friend and fellow sledder that lost several sheep to a wolf well over a year ago and has not seen a dime. Seems the support agency is "out of money" according to the spokeswomen. They did get the wolf. About two months ago. My bosses father-in-law lost a buck and several bum lambs from another wolf. It went right into the pen and killed all. Nothing ate, just slaughtered. Neighbor shot that one. They won't reimburse for bum lambs, not considered loss. Idiots.

is maloy the judge on this again? :S

i dont see how they keep letting him rule against this all. he is biased.

No worries Steve...we need MORE attention to this.

Hey Steve, did you know that in 2005 we saw wolf tracks on the top of that chute we all climbed out of at HooDoo back when you guys all came over in 02? Wolf tracks mixed right in with the Goat tracks.
