I just bought 2 new 600's. One 2008 shift and the other is a 2010 rmk. My wife wanted to come sleeding this year and I figured these would be the most reliable sleds? I'm coming off of my 06 700 rmk and dont know much about these newer 600's. Is there anything that I need to watch out for? Best mods for the money? I did all the updates to my 06 and can do all the wrenching if i need to! From what I have searched on her these seem like a gas/oil and ride sled? As for performance mods I only plan to add cans to both sleds.

08 and 10 600s

Still King of the 600 class, they are great sleds. Bikeman and Skinz Super Q cans work good, as removing the foam from underhood and side panels, then replacing with reflective tape. The stock dash vents feeding the airbox should also be replaced with SLP parts and Polaris lightweight 42 tooth chaincase gears installed. They are quick, responsive sleds and a blast to ride.

Picked up an 08 D7 a while back and im kind of doing the same thing you are right now... On the 08 you will want to check and fix a few things.

1. Check airbox, they are a two piece box and belt dust and other crap can get into your throttle bodies... I am just going to use gorilla tape to fix mine unless i find a one piece airbox

2. Check and clean throttle bodies... Most likely they havent been cleaned and if crap is getting in through the airbox they will be dirty.

3. Check the throttle body boots, they are prone to tear! Which can wipe out the engine.

4. I am going to check the tps sensor to make sure it is set right

5. Depending on miles and use, fuel and oil filter never hurt to replace.

I would also recommend check the air vent listed above.

On the 2010 i would say just check the usual and it should be good to go!
