Just goes to show ya..

It's a great day for Polaris..

Four years ago, with the release of the 900, many claimed they were done with Poo and vowed never again. But now look, Poo is once again breaking trail and selling machines like there's no tomorrow. Just goes to show you, BUILD IT AND THEY WILL COME.

you have seen and ridden with 3....that us your evidence. jump on a dragon and ride, they are damn nice sleds

Selling sleds like no tomorrow?? I guess thats why Polaris announced 460 job cuts on Friday. ArcticCat also announced laying off 7% of its work force. Most dealers will tell you the only thing that is saving stores right now is the ATV's, not sleds. Everyone gets so hyped when they see the new toys the manufacturers are coming with, until its time to pony up the 10g's it takes to own one of these things you can maybe ride 5 months out of the year. I don't think you will see a big jump in sled sales until manufactures can figure out a way to make these things cheaper.

I just can't bring myself to ride one, standin' on it reminds me of an old zx.

I seen a column once in one of the mags saying that most of the people that snowmobile have an average income of 80,000 - 100,000 so the mans have no problem making a sled that costs 10,000 cause it is a drop in the bucket of the average snowmobilers income(although i do not know one person that makes over 100,000 and i know at least 30 different sledders). Everybody cries and wines that sleds r so expensive but if they did not cost that much u would be ridin a shift 'cause that is what u get for 7,000 now days. When sleds cost 6,000 they were unreliable pieces of crap and now u can drive for years without fixing anything that u did not break 'cause of abuse.

Polaris listens to the customer probably more then anyone else in the manufacturer game. If you want a $6000.00 mountain sled, tell them, they have the ability to make it. Just not enough are asking for it. Then when the do make it (read SHIFT) people need to pony up and buy one or it will be short lived and go away.

I would LOVE a new sled I could afford for my wife. Instead we are looking at used machines for her. I am just hoping someone will sell me their gently used Viper next spring....

I'd believe it, it never seizes to amaze me when I get to the mountain and see people with 25ft enclosed trailers filled with brand new sleds, and pulled by their $50,000 lifted truck. Basically more money in their setup than my house cost, and yes, it was cheap house lol.

However it is these people that are fronting the bills in the industries relentless pursuit for industry perfection. And for that, I salute them! As my contributions are currently in the second to third use markets :face-icon-small-coo
