Just bought a 89 phazer, question?

So I bought a very clean 89 phazer for my son. It has 5000 miles, dg pipe, and the carb update.

My question this, is there anything to look out for on these sleds? I have heard the engines are pretty bullet proof, but any info is appreciated!

Make sure the oil pump is working, I just had a seize up on my sons phazer because of that. Gonna premix now

Just bought a 1993 Phaser 2 for the grandkids to ride today. With your info I will premix until I know the oil pump works.

the phazers were bullet proof, the oil pump can go, just make sure it springs back and forth good. should be pretty noticeable, and also make sure the fan is spinning when running, aother than that run them till they blow, which shouldn be anytime soon
