Just bought this sled and am wondering about the issues with the 800? I noticed on the paperwork an ecu update was done but i saw nothing about having the 2 ring pistons installed. Was that a warranty update or an out of pocket expense? can i tell if its been done? I love the sled and i did buy the 3 year warranty with it. Its got 800 miles on it and seems to run good. I thought with the warranty it was a no brainer to buy the sled. Love the pro but not the price. Any info is greatly appreciated even though i probably opened myself up to a dragon slaying! Lol

It was warranty. I don't know of a way to tell by looking at the motor, but you can always ask a local dealer to do a VIN check and see if the update was done. I had an 09 D8 and it was a great sled. I had to do a few things to really like it, but I never had any issues. If it does not have a warranty look into the piston FIX to help avoid the motor issues. I opted for front and rear suspension as well as a Camo Ext track. The PCV is a huge help on the D8 as well. I also added Better Boards, HPS can, high compression head and a wrap.

from what I can tell with having one of these with over 1800 trouble free miles is, ride it hard, do not hold it in the mid range. If you are cruising down the road fluctuate the throttle like you would a mod sled. This is what I have done and haven't had to spend a dime on repairs or supposed fixes. A camo extreme works great on these sleds. you can do it with or w/o a drop and roll. I don't have a drop and roll on either of mine

09 800

Add a fuel controler and SLP pipe and is should be solid. I also went with belly buster weights and Jack Struthers' helix for elevation.
