Jumping the border from Washington to Canada

Hey, Im Asler, new to the forum. New to the sport of Snowmobiling. I've been doing a lot of research on the sport, but this is one question i've yet to see anyone on any forum bring up. I live in Seattle, and often head up to BC to visit friends and family, but wanted to know:

Would i be able to bring my sleds to Canada, and is there any rules or regulations that i'd need to fallow, more-over that pertain to the sled
(exhaust, permits, licensing, insurance, ...)

Has anyone done this, and how easy is it. I've searched and all that i seem to find are people in Canada purchasing sleds in the USA to bring back over the border.

Asler.

Take the registration. Do not take the title or they will think that you are going to sell it up there. Do not take more sleds than you have guys going with you. A Canadian cannot ride a US sled in Canada, same law that pertains to Canadian's driving a US vehicle in Canada. Three guys might get away with 4 sleds, but you alone with more than one sled may be forced to leave a sled at the border. (been there, done that)

The best crossings that I have been to there are the major one on I-5 for going into Canada and the truck crossing just off I-5 coming back into the US.

DO NOT TAKE A GUN IN!!! If you forget and they search, you will regret it more than you can imagine. (have not done that one, but had a friend that forgot the 22 in his pack, someone is enjoying that sweet gun and Canada loved the fine they got from his credit card, and he can never go back)

If you have a DUI in the past 10 years, be prepared to pay up to $1000 bond to go into Canada.

Hope it all goes well and enjoy yourself, the riding is awesome..............

its absolutely true, i heard that americans have the back of their heads attached, thats not true tho is it ?

LMFAO !! that was a great comment !! :face-icon-small-ton

Does the US let Canadian drunks into our country(the US)? Just wondered if it worked both ways. We prolly keep all our drunks and let their drunks in too. So we have more drunks. Cause we need more drunks.

to be honest, i think it depends on the border guard and what kind of DUI you got....for example, ive had a DUI under the motor vehicle act, and i had no problems.....however i have a friend that has a DUI under the criminal code, and hes had luck at some, but not at others.....
wasnt cheap to get mine under the motor vehicle act ill tell ya that.....5 G in lawyer bills and a 2 year suspension plus a trip to rehab and i was good to go!!!
moral of the story when your buddie compound fractures his arm in the bush, just let him bleed out cause you will get a DUI once you get him to the hospital. F**K the police!!!!!
