Jetting with SLP pipe

Just curious on what people run for jetting. I have a newly acquired 03 RMK 700 which is all stock except for an SLP single. Since it was not from my area, first thing was to adjust jetting.
For 3000' (-10 to +5C) SLP calls for 440/450.
The stock jetting for this sled is 410 for that elevation.

My dilema.........dealer says to run 410's with the SLP, since the stock setting was usually fat.
Currently I am using 440's and the plugs are nice tan color, sled runs great.
To me, the 410's would be too lean.

My question.............are the SLP recomendations quite accurate???

SLP

I'm at 900' with 500's and #3 on needle.

My plugs a fine. What would you gain by going leaner? My mileage is great and I don't have to worry about it being colder than 10 degrees.

I'm assuming you also have the SLP air box horn installed with some flo rites?

Piston wash is a good indicator and there are some posts on here regarding what that should look like.

There are no airbox mods. Just the single pipe.
I have only put on 35 miles so far and with the 440's the plugs are good. We are going out this weekend so a few more miles I'll get a better idea. I'll have to check wash.
Just was looking what others were using for a comparison.
thanks

SLP is usually 3-5 jet sizes fat jets are cheap go get 4 or 5 different sizes and try them out till you get a cocoa brown .

Have sort of the same question...

04 RMK 700 144x2. SLP pipe, can,Ypipe,SLP airbox mod, SLP boost bottle. Unknown clutch settings as Ive only ran it 2 times. I am in 900-1400 ft elevation. Does stock jetting sound good to everyone? I did put in 1 size bigger than stock and it seems like a dog until it gets going. Any recommendations?

Polaris chokes the intake air out of the engine to cut down intake air noise, and claims some sort of paranormal dynamic effect that increases the air flow, instead of reducing it through the bottle necked intake tubes. The poor man's method to greatly increase the air flow is to simply remove the tubes and cut the foam to allow more airflow, and reinstall that foam and the plastic panel so you can't easily suck a wrench into your intake.
Then you set your main jets based on sound, becaused plug color requires completely baking the plugs on an extended run, and not just ordinary riding. When you get to the lowest elevation in your ride where you want the most gas to air mixture, you want to hear a deep burbly sound when you are just low speed cruising.
Polaris jetting is waay to fat, btw. For liability purposes. Unfortunately, there are so many other things wrong with edges that cutting their losses on too lean engines, does little to lessen your repair bill. For instance, the bearing on the PTO side of the PTO side piston, do not have a drip hole that directs oil from the piston area to that bearing. Which is why that bearing goes first. You can drill it in yourself, however. The PTO side external oil line does not really do the job very well because the outer bearing face stops that oil from being injected, as I recall.
You will also want to confirm that your needles are in the no.2 position. Polaris sent them out in the no. 1 needle position, as I recall. No. 1 is too lean for 3000 feet.
